Who is Your Unsung Hero This Season?

Simple question: Who do you think plays a tertiary role on this team and does a great job at it?

There are many to choose from and that is why we are winning. For me it's Colin Jones, this guy is like a rocket on special teams, he is always wrapping up and helping our field position. Especially with Brad Nortman's booming kicks.

Mitchell, Ginn, Gano, Tolbert, and TD are pretty obvious choices to the more informed fans.

2 more names I want to mention though:

Charles "Big Money" Johnson. We all knew/know he is good, but that dolfinos game showed how much we miss him.

I think he is the 3rd most important player on our team behind Cam and Keek.

Another one is Jordan Gross. I can't count the number of huddlers that put a fork in this guy before the season. He's been great for us and for the team as he usually is.

    • I mean, I wouldn't classify him as elite, but he is good. Are you arguing that he's JAG? There aren't many elite pass rushers in the league today in my opinion. Carter and Thibodeuax don't seem to be. I mean, come on. Sometimes rushers get to the QB, sometimes they don't. Sometimes injuries slow a player down. I haven't seen Hutchinson enough, but he just got paid like an elite pass rushers, and we all know that Parsons is. Who else is really elite? Crosby and Watt can rain terror, at times.  Hendrickson is good, but a Johnny-come-lately. Other guys seem to be on the same level as Burns. The days of Pep or Reggie White have been gone.
    • With Canales I'm not nearly as concerned about his mismanagement of the RB situation (which you could argue is being overblown to a degree yes) as I am with how woefully inept he is at preparing coaching and managing his team on gamedays against opponents and their coaching staffs with winning records. The team has been blown off the field too many times under his watch now. But I will concede that even if we fire him we will just end up with another figurehead of sorts. It's plainly obvious or at least it should be that our ownership is still meddling and pulling strings.
    • It's definitely not but what he and Darnold and now Jones are all doing does show that if you have a guy who checks a lot of the prerequisite boxes putting them in the right situation can make all the difference. The problem for the folks wanting to apply this logic to Bryce is that little "checks a lot of the prerequisite boxes" issue.
