RGIII: "Media trying to Character Assassinate Me"

I'm so glad Bob is getting exposed. Couldn't stand to hear people say he was going to be one of the greatest in the game and other BS like that. He's just not NFL material. And he has proven it from the start. Last year, he had his knees, so that gave him his running ability that threw teams off (like most running QBs do). Now that he doesn't have that, he has to be a true-passer with the ability to escape if he absolutely has to....and he's not that.

In the words of Doc Holliday, "you're no Daisy. You're no Daisy at all".

RG isn't really being exposed. It's just a few bruises egos who are perceive him as insulting them. Nothing more than a little bump in the road that is being talked about.

I was on Sportnews website and they have up their the top 12 NFL 2 second season players who are not suffering a sophmore slum. Both RG and Luck was on the list. By the time the Panthers lose their third in a row last season, the "S" word was being attached to Cam. The RedSkins are 3-8 and the "S" word isn't attached to RG.

But we all know whatever the "chosen QBs" go through, the lesser QBs have to go through it also, regardless of the reality. Sam Bradford, the other media chosen QB had his sophmore slump the season Cam was a rookie. The media played it down and blamed the Rams for him not playing well. The next season, the Panthers started off slow and Cam was having the "sopmore slump" label hung around his neck, like all the other endless labels.

I was wondering today how sports media turned in to a drama fed tabloid circus. We have come to enjoy tearing other players down to feel better about our own. Every fan base does this. Its so un football and more like a soap opera. I dont enjoy it happening to Newton and I dont like seeing it regarding rivals either. Some trash talk is one thing but out right hatred just seems manufactured.

Who you would take is irrelevant. You dont get to take anyone. Fans love their guy and hate the other guy. If the roles were reversed you would be claiming your guy was just being honest. I specifically remember people saying that Newton should not take blame for other peoples mistakes. Dont pretend that your opinions arent rooted in the fact you will always love your guy and hate 31 other guys. Every fan does this.

RG3's knee may not be hurting as much or at all anymore, but missing the whole offseason is clearly hurting him. I think he comes back strong next season.

I think it's his ego hurting as much as anything else.

People who breeze through high school and college sometimes wind up ill-prepared for the real world while people who have had experience facing adversity are prepared for the 'slings and arrows'. It's why the people voted 'most likely to succeed' sometimes don't.

Who knows? Maybe the scrutiny Newton faced early on was a good thing. Griffin had it relatively easy, but now that the pressure's on, he's folding.

I hope he does, he needs to realize that he needs his play to improve first

The first step to strength is to acknowledge that you are weak

RGIII is the spoiled diva that the media has tried to make Cam out to be

This is the truth. Although Cam has grown and matured as a "professional" NFL player, but they tried so hard to paint the picture of him of people should perceive him. The college issues was one thing but his performance made so many people eat crow

I blame his pops for the latest drama. He needs to chill out. This is football, if your son is walking on his own power after the game then it can wait. Coming into the locker room after the game is more of that babying poo that needs to stop.

RG3 has every right to be insecure about Kirk Cousins, that guy can play. That's why I was against us drafting Wilson. As great as Cam is there is no doubt that there would be times that Wilson would out perform Cam at practice. That's not good for team chemistry. When guys start secretly questioning who should be behind center you got problems.

All that being said I think it's fuging ridiculous how some people are saying he should just take the rest of the year off. What??? No sir. Your ass was all in for week 1 then you need to be all in for week 17. You don't get to just quit because your team sucks.

Don't want to hear he's not healthy when we had to hear all offseason how he was superhuman. Although DR. Andrews did say he had some "concerns"...

I waited a couple days before I posted this but felt I needed to share wit you guys since it hasn't hit the National media:

http://thebiglead.com/2013/11/24/mike-silver-rgiii-asked-the-redskins-not-to-show-his-bad-plays-in-film-study/

After this story broke on Sunday afternoon, and then the piss-poor effort on Monday Night Football by the Skins,

this story came out after his press conference in reference to the above story:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1866019-robert-griffin-iii-accuses-media-of-trying-to-character-assassinate-him

I just felt like this is so humerous because what the media has done with him is all self inflicted. The media has raked Cam over the coals for 3 years and only recently have shed a positive light on him- Oh, it only took and 8-game win streak to do so.. but RGIII is such a media darling it makes me laugh but makes me upset after the stuff he has done to himself and then wants to play victim.

Mike was actually the first person. He was asked about character assassination specifically and he repeated the reporter, then proceeded to say he didn't understand it but to quote Mike on it because RG3 didn't bring it up. That quote is totally out of context and is everything that is wrong with sports journalism today. They are trying to Cam him and it's working.
