Time to game plan for Taints big TE and WR....what's our strategy?

Biggest game for the franchise in a long time is coming down in one week....we all know what Brees will be looking to do. They will try and get the big guys behind our secondary and if they do, it may be a long day. I know the feeling is we need to trample them with our pass rush and shut down the running game to force their hand, but our secondary will have to step up at some point to shut this down. I know Rverboat read them the riot act after the Miami game, but you can't sit everybody down that gets burned...they are all guilty at one point or another. What are some thoughts on what adjustments need to be made.....they have seven days to get this right.

Keep the ball in the offenses hands. Play stout defense. Let Brees make his BS volume stats but when it comes down to redzone plays and crunch time, force him to make a play and throw a pick.

We have been really good at getting Brees to make mistakes. That's why I'll never consider him as good as Brady or Manning, he makes the most crucial mistakes out of any of them.

The Carolina Panthers, Cam, have a mutual hate for the Saints. The good news is this week is relatively short for them. It doesn't appear we had any injuries today (knock on wood).

We need to rattle Bree's early, force him to make mistakes. If CJ is back, along with Kracken, and our other dominant key defensive players make every play "hurt" for the saints. In other words, we need to come out early and punch the, in the mouth with our nasty, feisty defense.

Also, as long as we can turn offensive possessions into points and our defense can hold its own, we win.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
