Mariota will return to Oregon next year

This surprises me, Mariota can't really improve his stock much more.

Not worth going back and risking the potential of an injury.

Then again... Maybe he remembers what happened last time Houston had 1st overall pick and took a QB. He might save himself an injury by staying in school...

That will rework some draft boards.  Also make it possible that if someone passes early on a QB, they might want to jump back into the first round with someone sitting around, oh I don't know, from 28-32?

Will trust Gman to make the right call

hopefully he improves in areas he needs to, but i think you should go as early as possible.now scouts got another year to sit back and nitpick at your game tape, and the injury bug could become an issue. he just recently had a knee sprain. i really do believe that you go to college to get a better job, and if that job is to play football, you take that opportunity asap.

but good luck MM.

1. He's still young and yes, there are areas he can grow in.

2. I wouldn't want to play for the poo hole of a city Houston, or Jacksonville for that matter.

3. Whats wrong with the kid getting a degree. That's the main reason for going to college.

    • Good read and stuff under it is not bad either. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/article/panthers-cb-jaycee-horn-says-184519429.html
    • While I'd love to add him, it just doesn't make sense for where we are at in our re-build right now. The only teams who should be interested are those who have a very legitimate shot at winning the SB this season, as any team who makes the trade is going to be mortgaging their future to make the move. Teams who make these kinds of trades and then give them the massive contract, in the hopes that it will expedite their path to contention, ALWAYS ends up backfiring because they have to give up the 1st round picks that are then needed to help build out the rest of the roster after eating up such a significant chunk of the cap on the new contract. There is no way the Cowboys trade him for anything less than 2 future 1st rounders (and probably more), plus we'll have to make him the highest paid non QB in league history.  Not to mention that it would then have made the Scourton and/or Princely picks a bit of a waste, as those 2nd and 3rd round picks would have been better off used on a ILB or DB
    • Like his approach to pre season that's ro get them out there and play together for a few plays and right about the night before and morning before.  Maybe we can come out the gate on fire I can smell the smoke from here!!   Go Panthers
