I am sure individual players do not worry about getting better draft position.  Especially when the individuals getting drafted could be competition at their position for their job.

They can't. Even if they should manage to win, a Saints' loss would result in no changes. We'd still be #2. Nice attempt to be significant on their part even though they aren't this year.

I suspect they probably just want to take out the frustration of a wasted season on whomever is put in front of them.

If that means hurting a division rival, whomever it be, all the better.
