Guess what coveted WR by some Huddlers didn't have a TD catch in 2013

Charlotte's own, Hakeem Nicks.

Hometown boy. Tie to G-man. Unless he's giving a serious discount, I will pass.  The risk is too much in my estimation. I don't want to give much needed dollars to a guy who has suspect sticks. Seriously, at this point I don't even know if he is better than what we have on the roster right now. He seems to have lost a step and is unable to get separation.  His big frame and ability to out-muscle smaller DBs for targets is the only enticement that I see in regards to Nicks, and that's not enough in my estimation to prolifically upgrade our WR corps.  I'd rather take my chances with fresh legs.

I see Nicks signing a one year contract with someone.

If Nicks goes for a long term contract that tells me he doesn't have faith in his skills and wants the security. If he thinks he still has it, he'll be happy to sign a one year somewhere and earn his big pay day the year after next.

If he wants to come here and play with a chip on his shoulder for a year like some of these other guys, than it may work. Ideally we draft a receiver or two in the draft and roll with those 2, Ginn and Smitty.

Good, im glad he didnt. Makes it more likely we can afford him and get him on the cheap now. Eli has been horrible and thats a compliment, 25 picks. He was so bad this year he deserves a pro bowl spot because it takes some very rare skill to be as horrible as he has been this year. Eli Manning this year was like The Expendables movie, so bad its good.

Nicks is going to be your classic case of a very good WR brought down by a terrible team who needs a change of venue. He will be at pro bowl level with a different team, watch.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
