Revis Could Get Cut By Tampa

Read up a little on Mark Dominik just for the heck of it.

Tampa is the only place he's ever worked.  He started there in 1995 working with pro personnel, then as a college scout.  Worked his way up over the years till he finally earned the GM job.

And now, he's out.

That's gotta suck :(

I'm actually shocked that he was fired, unless he was pushing ownership on the Shiano hire.

It sucked that he worked his way up the chain getting fat ass raises in the process?  Sign me up for that type of suck!

I didn't expect it, but didn't find it a huge surprise either.

Kinda surprised they mimicked the Browns and did the Coach-GM thing in reverse order.

is Dominik the only GM fired this offseason?  if anyone else got canned, I'm forgetting it.

I'm sure he made decent cash along the way.

But yeah, if I'd spent the last 18 years working my way from the bottom of an organization to the top, it'd suck to get canned.

I doubt that picks would even come into consideration, but $16M definitely will.

That was the original speculation that spawned this whole article.

I think that's important to remember: The source of this article is nothing more than Mike Florio's speculation.

Dolphins GM may be on the way out, as well as Dennis Allen.

As Chris Brown of Smart Football pointed out, Lovie last ran a Cover 1 Man as his main scheme in Chicago. Also, you don't dump one of the best corners in football just to lose a 4th rounder rather than a 3rd.

but but but but the scheme!!!

The Revis trade would prove to be a huge failure if they cut him now. I don't think anyone was criticizing the contract since it was made public that it was all non-guaranteed, but considering they gave up a high-mid 1st round pick for a one year rental and still tied for last in the division...that sucks for them.

4 million per Win for Tampa's investment in Revis.

You spend that kind of money on guys who can create Impacts which are few and far between in the NFL.

Sure the Panthers would be better with a talent like him but he is clearly NOT worth 16 million when you could sign 2 impact guys like Hardy and Hakeem Nicks for the same price.

The Tampa 2 devalues the man cvg CBs and there was long speculation about Revis' tenure by more than Florio.

I think post injury Revis is an overrated one.

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
