Does anyone remember '95 or '96 against the 49ers?

I can't recall which game it was but the upstart panthers went into candlestick against a team that had won multiple super bowls. During warmups both teams were stretching on their respective sides of the field.

Multiple members of the Niners came over the 50 yard line to talk shit pregame.

Apparently we just looked at them stoically with no response until they walked away.

And then spanked them on the field.

Trying to track down an article any help is appreciated.

Feels similar.

I loved that game.  Does anyone else remember that on the TV broadcast, while the players were shaking hands on the field after the game, they were playing "Carolina in my mind" by James Taylor?  That gave me chills, and it was awesome how they obviously had it cued up and ready to play following our win.  What a moment.

I remember the one where Steve Young rushed in for the winning score with like :30 left. It was week 17 I think and knocked us out of playoff contention..

Really hated the 9ers then, and starting to really hate them again.

Something about their team attitude just rubs me the wrong way..

William Floyd (9ers fullback) was talking mad sh1t to us. I think that was the day my panther fandom started. On NFL prime time. Chris Berman was using the movie line "who are those guys?" (I think it was butch cassidy and the Sundance kid). That whole season was cool. We had the packer game too but Favre was in his beast-mode prime years.. Jags did the same thing in the afc. Two expansion teams going to the conference championship their second season. They spoiled me early man. I thought that sh1t would happen every year....good times.

    • Dalton is 1-5 as a starter. I wouldn't hold my breath.
    • That last thing is a bad trend. It has happened in three different seasons now. If it isn’t a trend, is it a tendency? Words…. What I mean is following a successful outing (and they are rare or scarce) with a stretch of bad outings.  The slow starts individually are slow starts. Looked at as continuations of the string that started game 1 2023, there is a pattern that may or may not be predictive.  The first game people said that he turned a corner, Green Bay 2023, was followed by those two shutouts to end the season.  Then continued with the two horrific outings that had AT throwing his helmet and Canales benching him. That’s 4 straight after 1 good.  The next one I would give him high credit for is the Atlanta game. One of his two best IMO.  He followed that with this year’s opening stinkers putting the team in a big hole.  It is so up, then back down.  His other best game was vs Dallas this year, I think the best he has played start to finish, he followed with an uninspiring performance against the Jets. I was half waiting on him to give that one away more than go win it, which was just a feeling, but then he got hurt. And here we are.  Just waiting for him to prove something if he can. He is going to have his shot the second half of the year. So we will see.
    • Before the Penix pick six, the panthers had run 8 plays for seven yards while up 10-0. That includes a 5 play, 13 yard drive out of halftime where Bryce threw incomplete on third down. In that exactly what canales wanted?
