Huddle question....possible offensive game plans utilizing strengths and cover weaknesses

Game is two days away and it looks like Stewart will be able to go as well as Smitty (on a limited basis I would guess, definitely not 100 %). So they have a season of games under their belts and we have seen the capabilites of our backs ( Stewart not so much), and our wide receivers (with and without # 89). Question is the best way to include Stewart to create positive yards and the wide receivers to cover for Smith and his injury. Please no Madden crazy ass plays and so forth. Climb inside Shulas brain and rework the connections to add something to our game plan that will put points on the board without upsetting the balance of run and pass.Defense needs little help but the offense needs to produce now.

Stewart will come in to give tolbert a break if needed, i dont see him having more than 8 snaps.

Smitty will be effective with ginn, lafell, or olsen clearing out the safety or corner and probably running slants, outs, comebacks and option routes. i dont see him getting loose down the field.

I think part of the national media's concern with us is our receivers and Smitty not being 100%. It's just time for our receivers to step up and secure the ball.

Lafell is due and there's no reason not to give it his all now...I expect a 150 yard game from him. Ginn will stretch out the field with a couple of big plays but really it's up to our RB making some catches, Olsen finding some seams/out patterns and Lafell delivering his best game of the season.

And Smitty gets a TD because he wants one.

Stewart's first game back he immediately saw a big role this year.

Then against SF he was a bigger part of the gameplan.

I expect Stewart to again get a nice load this week. His style suits the game.

Nothing suggests a healthy enough to play 28 will be limited

GB were moving the ball with lacys power running so Tolbert is the best bet, and big plays weren't needed in that game Nelson Cobb and Jones got enough space to complete short to medium gains on drives, it was only GBs failure in the redzone that made us play these douchebags on Sunday.

Call me crazy but I think Hixon sees the field this week more than ever.  I think we will do some 4 wides and less play action.   Last time we did a ton of play action and it didn't work.  Sunday I think we throw more to open up the run instead of run all day to set up the pass.  Let newton throw early and get into a rhythm.  Screens, reverses, slants and more quick hitting plays.

Screens to Jstew.

I think doses of both would help.

    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
