What does your gut tell you? Does Cam get extended by Gettleman and co. sometime this off-season?

I think this may be Gettleman's number two priority (after extending Rivera) this off-season and since he has already done that, I think an extension for Ace Boogie may be in the works. In his interviews he has said that Cam is the guy and is our franchise QB and that he has unlimited potential at the quarterback position. That has to bode well for his future in Charlotte.

Anxious to see how things unfold.

My gut tells me it's time for my sweet potato fries and baked chicken with texas pete.

And no, I don't think Cam is getting extended this season more because of cap issues rather than about him being a franchise QB. Teams will sn@tch him in a hurry if he hits the market.

LOL, I can't believe "sn.atch" is censored on here.

Cam isn't going anywhere regardless. I am fairly sure that G-man is in contact with Cam about his intentions. Sure they may not have discussed specifics at this point, but I believe that G-man has assured Cam that he is part of the greater plan, and those assurances give Cam a little security while other pats of the puzzle are being worked out. As an important part of the team and team building process, inasmuch as Cam wants to be here and wants to win, G-man has probably put some onus on Cam to be as patient and fair as humanly possible so that at the end of the day all parties involved can be happy with themselves (i.e., what they are earning for a certain length of time), and do what's best for the team (and what we're trying to do here).

Yes, they have to.

He's only played 3 years. He could play 4 more without getting a new contract.

Cam is still under contract for next season, and 2015 if they decide to pick up his 5th year option. After that they can even franchise tag him the next two years.

Even if Cam wanted out he could technically be stuck here until the summer of 2018.

    • I think the qualification has changed over time though. A deep ball play used to take 4 to 6 seconds for the receiver to get to that spot on the field. Now a receiver can be there in 2.5. That's less time than most QBs have to set and throw. In my mind a deep route takes time to develop. A crossing route and a deep route can't take the same amount of time at full speed. You can have 4 deep balls on the same drive,  almost 5 if you do 5 20 yard throws goal line to goal line. That doesn't even make sense when you say it out loud.
    • The sad part is it looks manicured enough that he's aware it's running away from him.  Also, I just wanted to give you some fun loving grief on King Haynes today having a chance to throw a game winning TD, and was wildly errant, and ultimately picked off to end the game.  So happy I won't have to hear anything else about The Golden Calf of Bristol lite ever again watching college football.
    • I just think Panthers believe in Bryce far more than the fans do and he is most likely going to be the QB at least the next two seasons. the real shot of us moving from Bryce is not getting an extension, till then they are going to give him every chance to succeed and I just want to win.
