Kevin Love Talks Charlotte In Hypotheticals

His standard line is “I want to win” and he’ll think about what he wants to do in 2015 in, well, 2015. He is sharp enough to realize it is a no-win situation.

“If I say that I like Charlotte or ‘Charlotte is a great city, I love spending time there,’ then all of a sudden I’m going to Charlotte,” Love said. “Anything I say is going to be a misconception or be some sort of a headline. It’s silly.

“Sure [free agency] is brought up. It crosses my mind. In a way, I just try to put that aside. It’s a question that’s always going to be brought up. Really, I would love not to talk about it and focus on winning now with the Timberwolves.”

Could be he was using us as an extreme example because of how bad we've been as in, "Even if I mentioned CHARLOTTE..."   ORRRRRRRRR, he could be a huge Hornets fan, lol.  I like it.

I don't know how much you can put into this, but there are some comments he made about playing with Al Jefferson about a year ago.

Looking back, Love still refuses to believe that dumping center Al Jefferson on Utah for picks and salary-cap space – ultimately all misused, of course – was the right choice for the Wolves. For everyone within the organization who believed that those two couldn't play together, Love still contends: Did we ever find out?

"We should've at least tried it, especially with the way things were going," Love says. "I was beginning to figure things out in my second season. Everybody knew what Al was capable of, and is still capable of. It was definitely worth the risk of seeing what would happen. If it didn't work, then go another way. But we never tried it."

Going into the year, I thought the Hornets could be one of the sneakiest big time FA destinations out there for winning purposes in the future. Kemba, MKG, Jefferson, and all the cap space and potential picks. IF they would've/would land a top 5 pick to add to that group, while having the space for a Love type guy...instant contender status.

Instead, getting a Turner level guy is going to prevent us from having the chance (admittedly small) of landing a premier FA. Unless of course MJ wants to pay the luxury tax Brooklyn style.

Eh he won't be going to Charlotte. He will probably leave Minnesota because he hates losing and that's all Minny has done forever. He's LA bound imo. LA actually has a great future if they play it right. Kendall Marshall has been nothing short of a good starting PG since coming to LA, they have Kobe for a couple more years, a ton of cap space, and one of the best GM's in the business. Also looking like they finish with a top 5 pick this season and snag one of the franchise players in the draft. Here's to hoping Charlotte will get there eventually.

Quick trade Zeller, Gordon, the Detroit pick and a future unprotected first for Love....playoffs!!!

Not exactly serious but it would be awesome if we could pull it off without giving up anything major.

Man, maybe there is something to it then? You saw the impact he had on Favors and Kanter when he left Utah. Those guys love him and look up to him. You see the impact he's had on Biz as well, while he's been here. So, it makes you wonder if Love isn't at least considering us because of Al. They definitely compliment each other really well.

Ultimately, I see Love going back to L.A., but it would be cool to be considered one of his top destinations and it would show the progress we have made.

Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down.
