Im in the minority here but Hardy just strikes me as the type that will take it easy once he gets paid. If he gets paid dont be suprised to see a big drop off in his play. You can save this comment and revist it midway through next season.

nothing about his play would lead me to that opinion.

LOL to all these people thinking Oakland is going to give us their first rounder for Hardy. They could get the best D-end prospect in decades for a fraction of the cost.

Not saying your wrong, but in my eyes sometimes production is better than potential. Thats not always the case and you cant always think that way, but you cant bank that Clowney will be the next coming

I hate big money contracts. Just look at players that get big money's deals and see a huge drop off. Vick, Stewart, Peppers, Beason. Keek and Cam are the only two players I can say with 100% confidence they wont get slack after getting big money and are truely driven by winning. Hardy seems to be the exaxt type that will stop caring after a big money deal. I just dont trust him like that.

every panther player you listed as having drop off, were injured!

That has nothing to do with the contracts.

oh no doubt, but that hypothetical trade has deeply rooted panthers homerism. there is no way it's happening.

Now maybe for a 2nd and maybe some thirds or a future 2nd, then were talking more in the realm of planet Earth

I  only like this in a tag and trade scenario.

We need major help on the offensive side of the ball, and even though both DG and RR are defensive guys first and foremost, offense get's you into the playoffs, and D wins the big one.

We need to protect Cam, and give him some pieces to throw to, we have failed in that department.

Any other team besides Oakland (maybe Cleveland) I'd agree, but sometimes I think Al is haunting them thar halls.

from SI's 50 best free agents...

1. GREG HARDY          01-greg-hardy.jpg?w=165&h=110Edge, Carolina (Age 26)

Just a terrific all-around end who busted through the shadow of fellow end Charles Johnson this season. Excellent pass rusher and might be even better against the run. He’s elite and young.Best fit: Panthers. They have some cap work to do, but they can’t let him go.

    • Don’t recall seeing many of his interviews but what strikes me is that he engages and goes in depth. Even with the cliche answers as referenced by OP come across somewhat thoughtful.  Very likable personality despite being someone who can crush an average person like I can crush a paper cup. I knew Motons mother had a career at MSU but was looking on the google and found that Mushin Muhammad personally knew Motons grandfather.   His late grandfather was a professor at MSU.   Cool guy.  Interesting family and small world.
    • I think people aren’t patient enough with Young. It can take a few years for a QB to develop. Look at Darnold, Baker and most recently Daniel Jones.   he hasn’t been able to put up big passing numbers either cause of how much we run the ball. You can tell our coaching staff still hasn’t took the training wheels off Bryce and let him go all out. We’ve had some pretty bad receivers as well. We finally got a true number one last year and look how much Bryce improved. Still we didn’t really have any depth behind TMac. Coker was hurt for a lot of the year and XL was our #2. How many big plays or TDs has XL dropped? I think this year can be the year we see Bryce able to hit his stride. If not then we can start looking for another qb but I just ask people to be patient.
    • poo I doubt any Bucs fan would trade Baker for BY either lol.
