Redskins want Mike Mitchell

pie a thousand times.

there was a thread about who is our core moving forward.

i listed mitchell as a must re-sign. people here are acting like we are not losing an important piece of this defense. the man took over our secondary and flourished. He was a force, somebody to be feared but also a very heady player. I want him back more than Ginn.

He gave a sick burn to my girlfriend on Twitter. She said she can't even be mad.

Guest Dark Knight

You guys are getting your panties in a bunch over nothing....

Rivera-McDermott

Johnson-Short-Lotulelei-Hardy

Davis-Kuechly-Klein

....Gettleman might as well sign 4 Huddlers to play in the secondary because it won't matter who is playing behind that all star lineup.

Gettleman's decision was as follows: Tag Hardy at a 13 million cap space or use that 13 cap space to re-sign Munnerlyn, Mitchell and Ginn.

So, you can keep Hardy but it will cost you keeping you next three "priority" FA's.

Munnerlyn, Mitchell and Ginn are replaceable......Hardy is NOT, at least not immediately.

In the end, Gettleman absolutely made the right decision.

You conveniently left off not being able to sign a starting quality LT because if that 13m we have to pay Hardy....which is more important than Ginn, Munny, Mitchell, or a second stude DE on the line.

That us the position that really has me worried.

Going into this season would you rather have Greg Hardy or Mike Mitchell and Ted Ginn?

You could argue that Hardy helped make Mitchell and Captain.  As far as Ginn goes, he is alright, but not worth it.  I would rather give a heavy contract to Hardy than Nicks, even if you lose Nicks, Captain, Ginn, and Mitchell.  I think it is the right decision.

So Hardy could be extended and that $13m could be reduced.

Ginn's value has improved but the market has been swamped with WR's/

We are a plug n play secondary because our dline id dominant.

Losing Hardy would mean needing to pay a lot more for a better secondary.

I Like Mitchell and hop he stays but he also improved his value. There was a risk on both sides with a 1 year contract.

Hope Hardy is worth it cause every other good FA player on this team is going bye bye.

Every coach and GM in the league almost always say the same thing when they are first asked what kind of football team they want to put together..  They say that they want tough, physical football players.  This has become a cliche for everyone.

But just like drafting the BPA instead of reaching for immediate needs (which is also a cliche that everyone says), its not as easy to do in real life.  All football players are tough and physical.. But Hardy brings that to a higher level.  That's who he is.  He is the type of guy that can change an entire defense's identity.  He makes the whole defense more tough and physical.  I can tell you this, even when he's not getting to the quarterback, he's trying to making life miserable for the opposing tackle.  You gotta love that, and those are the worst types of guys to lose and the hardest to replace.

I see this same type of attitude in Mike Mitchell.  I really don't want to lose him, and I hope he sees what a great fit he was for our team.  I loved what he brought to our defense.

With this attitude you should just stop reading and watching about the panthers. The season is over before it began right? Why live in misery about your favorite team? Or you could see how everything shakes out considering we still have superstars on our team with a taste of a winning record

There are still browns, raiders, and lions fans right? Being a fan does not mean you have to have blind faith every year.

Skins want a lot of things.

A new knee for their qb.

To relive the glory years of the last time they won a SB

To not have an owner that makes the former Al Davis look sane

Nothing new for them to want something they can't have. Re-sign Mitchell and get him to help bring a nice shiny Lambardi trophy back to Carolina.
