Quick Question....

Obviously not but everything he says about Smitty is about how close they are and how good Smitty's been to them. Notice "Gettleman believes Smith is a distraction." Never says he's a distraction particularly TO Cam, and never says Cam believes he's a distraction. So yeah evidence that was a stupid request, but how about a logical reason that Cam would view Smith as a distraction?

Honestly?   89 does get in the face of teammates a lot,   cussing and yelling.    While  I don't view it as anything bad,  who knows how other guys on the team may view it?  I don't know how the locker room is...  if Smith is as outspoken in the lockerroom as he is on the field.

I really don't know.  We may get more information on the subject in the upcoming months.    To let us determine if it was true or false.

Part that sucks about this is only having 1 offensive guy........ Need HELP bad...

I feel like by the time the season rolls around we will have at least 2 new core players on offense. One at tackle and one at WR. I also believe Amini can develop into a completely dominant gaurd and be another core player

Well guys it was a tough season. Too bad we hadn't won any games by March. Cam hadn't thrown a TD in March. The defense hasn't embarrassed a Qb in March...

... In March...

Sure we are sentimental about Smith because we watched him grow up. We love his plays, his excitement, his attitude. So many of us are upset because it feels like when that girl you liked had to move because of her dad's job (I still remember you Becky!).

The fact is, ITS MARCH! Wipe your tears away. Gettleman has the trust of the team, and a license to do whatever it is to do to win a Super Bowl.

In Gettleman we trust, even if we disagree and don't understand his mysterious ways.

Well if that's the case then I'm sincerely worried we have some Jonathan Martin's on this team. This is fuging football for godsake, you scream and yell and cuss. Obviously Smitty ain't no Incognito. Would we also cut Tom Brady if we had him? He screams and yells and cusses at everyone on the team who makes a mistake.

These players that where signed to one year deals are not core players. They where signed to be stop gap players ......adequate enough to contribute but not the final pieces. DG never intended for them to be here long term and that explains why they hit the market. He has a set value on them and will not be swayed by big money thrown around by other teams." The Godfather" has a plan for this team and he wants us to let it play out.......or sleep with the fishes

How about Mike Mitchell's production? Remember how many years it took us to find competent safeties?

once we got a competent GM who knew how to evaluate talent...about three months.

Zod's comment about players who can't be replaced is the key.  IMO, Gross is the only player who will difficult to replace.  Everyone else who has left, or who may leave, is not an irreplaceable, elite talent.  DG signed a bunch on 1yr band aids last year, and he'll do the same again.  That's all we can afford, so that's all we'll get.  It's as simple as that.

Yes.   and if he was a distraction for Cam..................then,   his replacement may be even better,  with a more focused Cam at the helm.

I would like to hear Cam say at some point "Steve was a distraction in the locker room and on the field"

We have to go to the Super Bowl so we can get those good tall-all pre-game interviews.

Cam, Kalil, Olsen and our defensive front 7 are our studs that we're moving forward with.

The WR corps was bad, OLine was a mess, secondary was carried by the front 7.

They're overhauling the weak parts of the team while keeping the strengths intact. Everything that's happened so far I've expected for weeks now.

That's the closest thing to a well put rationalization I've read here yet.
