Injured draft day prospects

There a couple guys that may fall in the draft due to injuries. Would one of these guys be worth stashing on the roster?

Brandon Thomas OL Clemson  ACL

Anthony Sheen OL Alabama  Torn Labrum

James Hurst OL UNC  Broken Fibula (Non displaced which makes rehab very straight forward)

Vinnie Sunseri S Alabama  ACL but ran a 4.48 at pro day

Brent Urban DL Virginia  High ankle sprain

I think it would be worth stashing someone if we can get them in later rounds..... after 4th round and they have starting potential

In Brandon Thomas, you might want to look at very late.  He can probably start in 2015, but remember he just got injured a couple weeks ago, so he could still have trouble being effective in the 2015.  I look at someone like SF, who has a dozen picks to be able to take a flyer on several guys

Steen and Hursts' injuries are less severe and could contribute this coming season.

Would not guess where we might want to take these guys

Would not waste a pick on the last two guys, that is just me however.

Rich are getting richer! Luckily this year draft is pretty unique with a lot of depth at QB, WR, OT, CB, LB, OG,..etc. With the help of the coaches, scouts, & Gettleman we should get quality players from all 7 rounds.

i would not be opposed to taking Hurst, or Thomas in the 4th or 5th round. Hurst expectations would be to compete for a starting spot on the OL, while the panthers could give Thomas the Kugbila treatment of sitting on IR for a year, so he could get healthy.

This almost reeks of Hurney, except he drafted players on the operating table too early (Stewart in the first, Hogan in the fourth)

Brandon Thomas:  I never understood why a personal workout was necessary.  They have hours of game film, the combine, and the pro day.  Still, I would consider him in the fifth round.

I would celebrate if we took Hurst in the third round.

I want Hurst and Sunseri...badly.

I read scouting reports on Sunseri trying to see why some Huddlers mention him so much (other than the obvious), and I wasn't blown away by what I was reading.

He may be worth a look in a late round.

I would add Antone Exum, CB, Virginia Tech, to that list (ACL).

I like Thomas, Sheen, and Hurst very much.  If they're still sitting their in the 5th-6th round, take'em IMO.  I think Sunseri is a pretty smart player too and wouldn't have my feelings hurt if we spent a 7th on him.

    • If Reich or Fitterer were still around I think the need to extend Young because of what he cost would be stronger.  And yeah Morgan was Fit's right hand when the call was made but there an equal chance that Dan will see it as a chance to move on from Fit and shake off that stink. Holding out some hope that 3 years and clear eyes will allow for an honest appraisal that Young just aint the guy
    • As far as elite/elevate talent QB’s It’s Allen Mahomes Jackson and Burrow that’s it.  Then we have tiers and those can be debated all day Dak is a good QB but I know this board would want him out of Charlotte if he was the QB here. 2 playoff wins in 10 years. Justin Herbert no playoff wins. Threw 4 interceptions in last years playoff game. 23 TD passes last year. 20 the year below and 25 the year before that. This board loves stats without context and these stats aren’t saying they’re much above complimentary  Kyler Murray isn’t good. I’m not sure how he made this list.  Caleb Williams, Trevor Lawrence both benefiting from some real good offensive coaches right now. They’re both complimentary pieces until proven otherwise  I like Jordan Love. Always have. I wanted to draft him but he isn’t a superstar.  CJ Stroud hasn’t been much better than Bryce after his rookie season. After that Bears game year 2 his numbers very similar to Bryce I will say I think Drake Maye is well on his way to becoming the next top tier QB if I had to pick one from this entire list. I’d also say Baker Mayfield is a damn good QB and I’d take him over most of those guys not in the elite category  Now if you want to debate tools and which QB’s possess tools to put them in higher tiers that’s a completely different discussion. Most QB’s on your main list all have those physical tools that will keep you thinking he’ll become the next top tier QB. They’ll sprinkle in a “wow” play or two a game. Bryce will never look that way. Young’s game at its peak will physically always look different and I think that’s where most people struggle when it comes to seeing how Young’s can be successful in the league  All QB’s need a team around them. I think the Bills are failing Josh Allen much like the Panthers did Cam. Beane and McDermott using same blueprint with Bills team. Josh Allen hasn’t had much in terms of WR’s and it’s ultimately costing them when it matters the most
