Jared Feinberg's Falcons v Panthers film breakdown
Murph replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
No, I’m sorry but the Huddle gospel was that Moore was worthless and was only on the roster because he was butt buddies with the HC -

The Panthers did a great job of countering the Falcons' pass rush in the run game. They utilized veteran wideout David Moore, a good run blocker on the perimeter, as the motion man to help with crack-toss plays and trap blocks. It was also interesting to see more Sean McVay wide zone concepts in Canales’ version, especially with the “insert” concept that is a table in these systems. Second-year cornerback Chau Smith-Wade didn’t come out of the gates hot, but settled in and put forth a fine performance. His spacing in zone coverage tightened up and it began to have an impact later on—like on his pick-six of quarterback Michael Penix Jr. He also showcased good matching capabilities while having some impressive man reps and tackles in space. You have to appreciate how well Ejiro Evero’s defense rallied to the football. Some runs that would, in the past, go for chunk yardage were contained. Tackling was improved on all three levels of the field. Wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan was once again the leader in receiving yards (48) on Sunday, but he struggled away from the box score with a couple of drops. As head coach Dave Canales noted Monday afternoon, the Falcons did a great job staying in phases on McMillan, especially at the top of routes. Rookie safety Lathan Ransom showed more flashes of control as a tackler. He continues to show the physicality that is needed in Evero’s defense while having the athleticism and downhill burst to click and close sideline to sideline or north/south. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/09/23/panthers-film-review-falcons-week-3/86308214007/

Horn + Jackson + Smith-Wade might be the best CB trio we've had in a minute.

I think we would have had a good shot. I believe at the time we had already traded for the first overall pick, so Baltimore could have then immediately get whatever replacement they wanted for Lamar in the draft or trade for someone else. I still am baffled we were one of the teams that put out that ridiculous statement about not pursuing Lamar. Yeah, let’s not trade for the franchise carrying, mvp winning, all pro top 5 qb in league to help take this franchise higher places. They should have at least tried. They were willing to go all in on Watson but not Lamar, I don’t understand Tepper.

Very encouraging to see Trevin bounce back nicely the past two weeks
-
That Jackson trade was a pretty solid one. I don't think he is elite or anything but he looks to be a solid CB2 we acquired for our 7th round rookie LB if I remember correctly?
-
Yea if you watch he had a perfect seam open up at the last second to run straight between but by that time he had already panicked, stopped and was about to start running backwards lol
-
Gonna be a rough day in the film room for Jackson since he couldn’t get around a qb without ligaments falling to the ground.
-
cranky started following Something positive (defense)
-
not the guy we want on our young team.
-
I wouldn't say the Patriots are easy. They are playing very good football right now. They easily outplayed the Steelers but could'nt stop turning the ball over. That should be the most difficult of the 4

Baker asked and Steve let him. He didn’t fit the scheme McAdoo and Wilks changed to. HOWEVER- I have to say I get really tired of the Wilks fan crew on here. He’s from Charlotte and blah, blah, blah. -The defense regressed in 2017 under him when McDermott left and he went to Arizona and failed miserably. -Rivera could have brought him back as DC but didn’t and even chose to stick with Washington over bringing him back. So he went to Cleveland and failed there too. -Everyone forgets how scared he coached. He was more conservative than Fox and Rivera. -The defense actually got worse with him and Holcombe after Snow left. -He lost the game in Tampa for the division, punting in FG range, not going for it on 4th and short, not adjusting coverage and getting beat deep. OH, and let’s not forget signing Josh Norman but continuing play CJ Henderson and Keith Taylor despite them getting cooked all game. -Right now his defense is statistically worse than Evero’s and Ulbrich had that group looking good last season. Wilks wasn’t a great coach, Rhule was just that bad that somebody at Wilks level could win a few games with a few changes.

We can swap Nick Scott for free for him, right?...
-
Texans are a train wreck right now - it will soon become a question of whether they finish worse than the Titans or not. Chiefs very well could - they still have an elite coach, elite QB, and very good defense
-
Corners have definitely played great so far this year. Talent was never the question for Horn; it's whether he can stay healthy or not
-
How many opponent coaches have we caused to get fired over the years?

total lack of situational awareness too at the end of the half by a WR as time ran out on them (it was FG range) It would have been close but it looked like he could of made it out bounds if he actually attempted it. but the QB and playcaller seemed to also lack the situational awareness there too -
Just keep staying healthy. When healthy he is absolutely one of the best in the business. He is crucial to our defense.

this thread is about our yards per play. So it by nature is going to be Bryce heavy talk given the ball is in his hands every snap and he is the main driver. This ain't a Jaycee Horn thread being hijacked where Bryce is catching strays. if folks don't like hearing Bryce Young debates....go start a thread on our special teams, or defense or endzone color. O threads are just flat out going to be Bryce Young talk.

I agree T Mac has to climb the ladder on short patterns.

Linebackers in the 1st is a NO from me. That said I was on board with Walker. Also Jack Campbell was on my wish list.

I mean you know CJGJ has a big mouth. I’m sure that is the biggest factor. I’d take him over Scott though…
