Im a miller guy, in fact I member when he was one of the first to have a website dedicated to NFL draft before the 50 or so now. He would show up to combine and team pro-days and people would ask which team are you with? Hed answer "I run a website". I respect his opinion, but this was his worst 7 round mock I've seen, shocked it was from him.

Brooks had a botch in his first surgery or the rehab. It took too long for him to be cleared. Then a quick tear again…it was fuged. If he isn’t ready today…he’s fuging done. TD had double knee surgery the last time. They took his patella tendon from one knee to make the ACL for the other. They usually use hamstring to make the new ACL, but since that failed him twice they went to this other poo. I heard he was screaming out in pain trying to make one revolution on the bike during rehab.

I know you in another thread mentioned Jake Golday out of Cincinnati. He was on Sirius this morning and I liked his interview. Seems like a guy we would have a place for. He plays a lot of different roles on their defense.

OP I appreciate bringing up new topics that require analysis (reading the tea leaves). This is a good question. I am not satisfied that A) Our LT is anything but a rental-and you do not want rookie OTs starting, B) Moton is going to play much longer, and C) our depth is good enough should we have an injury. On the other hand, The top tackles have concerns (arm length, run blocking film, or weight issues).

I agree, but would add Proctor to the mix. He could not only serve as a backup tackle this year, and if he doesn't develop into a tackle, he would be a great replacement for one of our guards.

There probably isn’t an orthopedic surgery that has had more improvement in technique and outcomes over the last two decades than the acl repair. Because of its importance in pro sports and the sheer number that surgeons do there have been lots of opportunities to practice 1. Better techniques - arthroscopic v open surgery means people heal faster 2. More training - all sports med surgeons have tons of experience doing them 3. better imaging - later generations of mri are more sensitive 4. better therapy - PTs have gotten better at rehabbing them and the theories of rehab have improved a lot. No idea about brooks in particular tho, but I’d describe that overall situation as “not great”

If Freeling or either of the Utah OTs dropped to 19 I'd be more than happy honestly. Our OT situation isn't great with an aging Moton at RT and a mess of a situation at LT if Walker goes down at any point in time. What I'm expecting the Panthers to do is probably draft another weapon like Sadiq or KC Conception. That's been their track record in drafting R1 thus far. None of the defensive talent projected to be around 19 stands out to me. Unless they just want to draft a LB early (Rodriguez, CJ Allen, Anthony Hill, Jake Gollday).

The pick at 19 needs to start, our roster is not at the point where we can draft a backup depth piece in the first round. If there's a tackle that they think can start, then yea draft a tacke. But if we are looking at the 4th best tackle who cant beat out our current starters, then draft a starter at another position regardless of positional value

Lee Hunter is an intriguing prospect that I hadn't looked into a lot. He's a pure NT, and a beast. Is a NT worth pick 19? My gut says no, but we will be seeing Etienne (the good one) and Robinson twice a year, not to mention the run game is becoming more popular in the NFL, so maybe. Maybe the Panthers are hoping he falls to them at 51. Maybe we trade back to acquire more picks? I'm going to have to think on that one.

My thinking is if you draft a tackle at 19 over the free agents you signed your wasted money because it looks like you expect them to be your starters for this upcoming season. I can't imagine drafting say freeling and having Walker as his backup this season or if ickey comes back before hand and one of them never seeing the field you wasted money. Not saying don't draft a tackle I'm saying that depth tackle can wait til 3rd round or later.
