  2. The good news is that we are pretty uniquely well established to address all of our needs this season. We have $14m real cap space, and something like $40m in trade deadline cap space. Not sure exactly how that works out. But, we have the room to absorb any bad contracts. With recent rule changes regarding retention, that went into effect this season, we now have a huge advantage in the trade market. On top of that, while we do have obvious needs, we also have a glut of talent in certain areas that we struggle to find ice time for. We are over-stocked on scrappy talented lil-guys, strong defensively sound 3rd liners and shutdown left shot dmen. Whether it's a package or separate deals, idk. But, one of each from Stank/Blake/Nads, Erob/Carrier/KK/Jank, and Walker/Nystrom; throw in some 1st round picks (and frankly any other prospects they want) and we should be able to come out with a 1b to pair with Bussi and either a 2c with size or a 2c and size. TL/DR We got the money, you got the stuff?
  3. I don’t think 6’4 was ever considered small or undersized. Baby hands tho, yes that was his thing That’s an interesting idea, like an optical illusion? Sounds like you have personal experience with this!
  4. Today
  5. in the 25' draft the Carolina Panthers had hired Brandt Tillis someone who actually understood how to build a successful team & build through the draft . this team was yes mismanaged for years prior to Brandt Tillis joining the team in 25' & rarely done anything right in the draft outside occaionaly getting lucky on an UDFA such as Jalen Coker who's dad coincidentally happened to be a huge Carolina Panthers fan, hint hint ...just saying
  6. We have no evidence that Canales is a forward thinker who is willing to make uncomfortable decisions for the betterment of the team. He seems very non confrontational, those types of people won’t make changes unless forced to. Dan Morgan is the same mold as Canales. Which means if changes are made, it’ll only come from one man. That man is David Tepper. But it most likely won’t be until next season.
  7. If you bring in an OC to call plays and he's a stud he will be gone in 1 year and you are right back where you started (over and over again).
  8. I watched the Morgan presser just now. The Evero extension was to align the contract with Canales’. Whatever that really means. Morgan sort of made a point of putting it that way. You could infer a fair amount from that move. For one, it lines up with the thing you guys are saying. Total reboot. Contracts are aligned.
  9. The whole thing is setting itself up that way. Run it back and the law of averages says about 4-5 wins. I think at a minimum Tepper would force Canales to hire a rock star OC. But he’d probably just fire everyone.
  10. Your debating with emotion I’m disproving the points you make with facts and statistics. You’re using arbitrary opinion statements to make a point that is illogical. We were a -70 point differential team last year, we lost to the saints twice this is a growing and young team not a contender. Clearly your not a Bryce guy, I most likely have a higher opinion of him then you do but that is besides the point. Even with an average to above average QB this is not a contending team. We have far too many holes to fill paired with a nonexistent pass rush. We need to invest in building our defense and let Bryce and this offense to continue to develop.
  11. If the panthers have the number 1 defense next year and bryce continues to put up the same mediocre numbers you really think the fans that are blind loyal to him are NOT going to give him all the credit for the wins? Lol...thats the end of this discussion right there.
  12. Canes are apparently trying to trade for Hamilton according to Lebrun.
  13. Allar is who I want. Green looks interesting from a size speed combination but I haven't seen him play a single game
  14. He could not have brought Daniel Jones until this year. Sounds nice in an argument but is inaccurate
  15. Well rookie LOT this season could be a rook, ROT next year could be Nijman he looked better this year maybe another year sets him up. Or another journeyman, or a draft pick. Yeah. I mean maybe Icky heals really good and comes back, the 2026 drafted LOT slides over… lots of variables. Moton gone, the Icky 100 million doesn’t get spent, rookie pay scale in place, keep drafting and try to replace the guard$ by the time you need to pay the OTs.. seems workable. Linderbaum or someone else.
  16. Right. I didn’t think it was good either but the QB sure did. He was the defacto number one target, not Chark, was my point.
  17. We could quibble about was that an answer to what I asked but I don’t see it as being one. Look, he agreed to this Evero thing. Up front. Apparently anyway. Took the job with those conditions in place. I buy that and will work off of it. This play calling issue isn’t the same thing. I am not in the mood to delve into Canales’ shortcomings and get out the pitchforks at the moment. I will abstain from that topic and stick to the quandary the dissenters who want to usurp his play calling power, find themselves in. As far as that goes I am still on the fence and think the play calling is Bryce centric and the play selection/playbook is affected. That does not mean I know that if the playbook was open he would be great play caller. Just that he is hampered right now. Inserting an OC not of Canales’ approval changes the original parameters of the assumed agreement. Unless you think Tepper placed a contractual prescription to allow Tepper to dictate that he can insert a play caller of his choosing after a time period if he is not satisfied with Canales’ work. Which, do you really think that is in play? I do not. Unless it is, Canales has the option to yea or nay. As I said, it could be forced on him. But they only do that if they want him out. And as of now his stock is up, I would have to say I don’t own any but I think it is up. He had the stadium rocking, the team in the playoffs, and has that sorry lil draft pick trending upward. Even at this very low rate. I think he has ‘hand’ right now as they say on Seinfeld. This is something that may get play in the 2026 season, not now. IMO.
  18. Canes now have 19 losses on the year. Here is the truly alarming stat. 13 of those were multiple goal loses. 9 of those were 3 goal plus losses. This team is getting blown out more than any other year under Rod. why? Blue line is a total mess. It’s just no good with their combinations. It pains me to say this, but they were mikes better with Burns and Orlov. They need Slavin so bad. Health. Size. The team is too small and has no physical play. Most forwards do not forecheck. Worst under Rod. Goalie play. Pretty average to sub par. PK is downright bad. It’s allowing a little over a goal a game. Worst under Rod. Team will not win a playoff round under its current group of players. It’s not constructed to do so against heavy teams. solutions. Must get physical size by the trade deadline. Rod and Tulsky know this. That probably has to come with the 2C. KKs size but a better scorer and meaner. The need another physical winger. Goalie. Either go all in on a top guy on a bad team or get average. Lastly, better defense. Need a Right shot heavy defenseman. Yes that could mean someone’s favorite dman could sit. Looking at you Boom. thats 3-4 new guys that must be brought in for them to have a chance at a cup. And it’s all players that are different and better than what they have. They have the cap. KK is gone. Add 4 mill back. And then hope it’s jells unlike Mikko.
  19. A 2 year deal for Coker would be terribly short sighted as I pointed out in another thread the other day. T-Mac will be eligible for an extension after 2 more seasons, and while there is still 2 years to go, he's very much looked like the type of player you extend right away, knowing waiting will only cost more money and take longer before the contract becomes a bargain with rising contracts every year. So if we sign Coker to a 2 year extension, that means we either let Coker walk after those 2 years or we don't extend T-Mac when we should, as I can't see signing both in the same off season much of an option, it was terrible for the Bengals this year. I like doing a 1 year deal for Coker to set his market value with a full season as the #2, and then sign him to a 3 or 4 year deal after that, which also separates Coker and T-Mac's contract years to help keep both around instead of having to choose at some point, like the Bengals should have done. I also think coming to an agreement on a multi year deal right now could be tough, the team will want to pay the rate of his actual production so far and his agent will want to be paid on his potential from his few breakout games, everyone might just be too far apart for a multi year deal.
  20. I would love Sonny Styles!. I don’t think he slips that far. Get the best OT available at 19. There is a good chance icky will miss next year and then come back and may switch to guard.
  21. Then they will have to depend on rookie tackles for awhile. They've got about 1 more good season in Moton and who knows if Ikey will ever return full strength. Better start drafting at 1 on day 2 at least. I personally would prefer a 1st round LT myself but I will take what I can get.
  22. I would take pre leg break Alex Smith all day every day over Bryce Young….some folks in here are crazy.
