Canales doesn't sound all the way sold on Bryce
mrcompletely11 replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree 1000% and its also the same reason I think drafting a TE/WR at 19 is a fools errand. Seattle and San Fran had sick defenses during their playoff runs. Although due to circumstances if a tackle fell I wouldnt cry but man I really really want a suffocating defense again. Those are always fun to have -
One can dare to dream

Which is terrible, 1 QB and 2 first round WRs in the last three drafts and we still have to be a run first team. Am I the only one that sees a problem with this? Also no one is checking for Hubbard, you can get that quality of back later in the draft, he's not a game changer.

I don't think that's realistic. Carolina ain't San Francisco (scheme and playcalling), Minnesota (WRs), or Seattle (all of the above, plus an insane defense). Just play consistently well. Command the offense with hot routes, smart audibles and protection adjustments. Take more deep shots when they're there. Make less foolish plays, particularly fumbles on your own side of the field. The rest of the team has to catch up with SF, MIN and SEA before we can expect much more. -

I'm with you. Get the best player on your board at a position of need, where he'll start or have opportunities to make significant contributions to the team - this season. Same for second round. Third round is where you can maybe start to think about projects for the future. Kind of like Princely last year. Can't believe everyone is so against a WR in the first because of Xavier Legette. He was the 32nd pick (the last pick of the first) and really not a first round talent. So if they waited until the 33rd pick, then it would be ok? Now if they would have drafted McConkey, then this wouldn't make sense. Then again, it wouldn't be a position of need. -
You must be new here.

Detroit drafted receiver's in the 1st round like 4 or 5 years in a row and got 1 receiver out of it. The GM was fired for that stupidity and he was a former player for them as well. Sound familiar.

Bryce either takes a Darnold step, or you have to move on. Simple as that IMO. The easy answer right now is he's in no way worthy of a $50+ mil extension. By the end of the season, if we're not on here fighting about his exact extension number, we have our answer and time to draft another or go all in on someone else (Burrow, Hurts, etc.) -

The WR class this year is not that impressive at the top but is very deep. Therefor, we would be better served saving the wr pick this year for later rounds where we can still get some quality. I could see us pulling the trigger on Lemon if he drops. Tate won't be there and Tyson has that injury history. -

The Eastern Conference with 4 games remaining: The Canes can secure the conference with 2 wins on their upcoming 4-game road trip to end the season.

Hubbard is #1 running back. After that it is a battle for #2. Brooks is a mystery, Etienne didn't show much last year. Dillon IMO probably has just as much of a chance to be #2 as anyone. I do believe we need to solid RBs. We saw what happened Rico down the stretch. He wasn't the same back that took over for Hubbard earlier in the season.

Completely outclassed lol
-
I can't see that happening. Too many IFs in the RB room. Hubbard is about the only RB we can count on as of now. If we destroy our RB room there is no way Young will succeed. We cannot become a throw first to open the running game. Bad Idea.

Lose by the fuging hook. Good news is dog stayed asleep. Haha.

What are we, in grade school? -
The fuging Suns turned into the Charlotte Hornets in the second half.

I just got home from going to the game tonight. Had a blast. Sucks that the defense was non existent on most of the bruins goals, but what a win.

Rumors are that Chuck Martin will be joining the staff as lead recruiter.

I really really dobt care if they drsft another receiver in the first. If he's BPA, YOU DO IT! Whether of not you like Bryce, the team needs playmaker. Better to have them regardless whom is the QB. Can't believe I'm reading we shouldn't draft offensive playmaker because of Bryce. I understand you dont like him, but openly rooting for him to fail is horrible. -

Nice elaboration I still believe you cant keep investing that type of draft capital in a position dependent on a QB that cant carry the team. BY nor this team is built like that. Not to mention not a single team in the HISTORY of the NFL has drafted WR in the 1st rd in 3 consecutive years! Would a Tepper led team be the dumbest and first to do it? Possibly unfortunately
