I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons. Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).

It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.

I still can't believe we lost to them even without them. That team is so incredibly ass

2026 NFL Combine Thread: 2.26.26 - 3.1.26

If there is one guy we must draft it’s this guy. I dont think he will go past the second round. -
Do not want. I agree with the OL approach at 19 but this is not the one. Truthfully, if we can find a dance partner, I think moving back to the mid 20s is the better move.

19 +13 = top 5 selection plus a day two pick coming back our way. We're talking Reese, Bailey, Bain territory plus an additional talent on day 2. Yes, please. I love Horn and think he makes Mike Jack better, but the ROI vs. injury concern here would be too hard to pass up. I'd take someone like Jobe or Woolen here + the draft returns over Horn.

No one available on the trade market currently is worth Nikishin not even close, your high.
-
Yep, I expect him to be Mekhi Becton 2.0. Even moving inside to OG hasn't been enough to protect him. He just can't move well enough. And Becton looked like a significantly better mover in college than Proctor did.
-
Edmonton landed Connor Murphy with a second round pick. If that's an indicator, Nikishin is worth a 3rd rounder.

Why trading up in 2026 is a bad idea.

For me they either stay at 19 or make a small trade down into the mid 20s and snag an extra 2nd or something. They need to get an edge, linebacker or offensive tackle and I don’t think any other positions should really be on the table unless someone super elite fell to them -
Definitely not but if leads to a legit Center. Absolutely

We didn’t even have a player score 20 tonight and still beat the Mavericks by 27. HUGE difference when you’re healthy and guys like Grant Williams, Josh Green, Sion James, and Kalkbrenner are leading the 2’s vs playing starter minutes. And now add Coby White to that list as well. Our Big3 gets all the national media love, but our 2’s have been huge difference makers lately.

I've been doing my mocks assuming we land Devin Lloyd.....I think I'm settting myself up

On the radio they made it seem like he's out cause it's a back to back

Is white hurt again or just a back to back rest game?

With Schoen and Dan Morgan being tight I’d figure we knew this was coming and since he is released, Dan didn’t bite. But, a quick search says this is at least 80% cap related. They have No cap space and save 8 or 9 million with releasing him. He has been a captain his entire time there. 145 tackles this year. They are picking 5th with a new staff and looking at Styles. Hitting that age 30 season and had a disc issue last year (meaning 2024) that did not require surgery. I haven’t really watched him play but he activated the antennae.

MHS831 started following Did someone say "hybrid" player?

OK, we are letting our top RB go. We have Chuba, Etienne, and Brooks. Imagine a player who could LEGITIMATELY play the slot and back up at RB? I am sure he'd be a special team player as well. I noticed him at the combine, and thought, "Here is a late rounder who could stand out as a slot and provide depth at RB. Without further ado....(I know one Huddler who might be able to tell us more about this guy): Navy running back/wide receiver Eli Heidenreich headlined the 2026 NFL Combine for the Midshipmen, running an official 4.44-second 40-yard dash and recording 16 reps on the bench press. Recognized as a versatile, "Swiss army knife" offensive weapon, Heidenreich solidified his draft stock as a potential day three target. Eli Heidenreich (RB/WR - Navy) 2026 Combine Performance: 6'0" 200 lbs. 40-Yard Dash: 4.44 seconds. 10-Yard Split: 1.55 seconds. Vertical Jump: 35.5 inches. Broad Jump: 10' 0". Bench Press: 16 Reps. Highlights: Showcased as a premier receiving threat from the backfield, having left Navy as the program's all-time leader in receiving yards (1,994). High character. Smart. Maybe, just maybe....
