BREAKING: Panthers re-signing Nick Scott
MHS831 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am hoping that he is depth. We have Moehrig and Ransom and now Simmons--all the same kind of player (Simmons more special teams, but I think they might find a role for him in some packages). We need 2 free safeties---so I get this re-signing, especially if they plan to draft one. Would safety be the biggest bang for the buck concerning 2016? Possibly, now that we have an NFL starting C and LT. Now that we seem to have addressed Edge and ILB. I think too many Panther fans and Huddlers are overlooking DT and I am still curious about TE--they seem to bring it up more than we do. In my view, based on what you say above--is why we need a QB at free safety--not somebody who gets confused and burned due to poor reads. - Today

His arm's aren't long enough for Carolina scouting staff for what the coaching staff wants for in a TE. I don't think he'll make the cut to be a selection at 19. -

Wouldn’t be opposed to it, either he balls with Bryce or the next qb who comes in to a loaded offense. but I’m more on the side of draft defense since they’re closer to elite than the offense. -
BREAKING: Panthers re-signing Nick Scott

the panthers could stumble into a roster of 21/22 1st team All-Pros with a HOF free safety holding a sign that says “will play for free” outside BOA and these twisted tards would still re-sign Nick fugging Scott. -
I wont be one of them, but holy hell the amount of hate Isaac Davis is going to get .....

He blocked a field goal against the Bucs.

I don't think Sadiq is going to be on the Panthers board and the beat reporters are giving away that impression by mentioning that he doesn't fit the physical requirements of the Panthers scouting staff. -
If Utah Valley could shoot free throws this would be a lock.

I could smell this excuse coming. Any starter drafted after the 2nd is a bonus, not an expectation. Oh we need more offensive help because we spent so much on defense. We spent all that because we've barely drafted any defensive starters the last 5 years. The way I see it you'll get a better return on investment in defense than offense currently with this team. We proved that last year with just a modicum of investment in the defense. I'm not the biggest believer in Evero but I trust him more than Bryce. The biggest factor holding the offense back wears #9. Accuracy is one of his strengths? 23rd in the league while being 30th in Y/A. Someone will claim we get no YAC but 49% of our yards were YAC which is higher than most teams in the league. Unless he drastically improves you're going to get a bad return on investment. Yes TMac had a great rookie year but it wasn't exactly efficient volume wise. He has one of the worst catch % in the league at just 57%, probably related to that 23rd accuracy ranking. -
If this team lets the Bucks or Bulls catch them, Charles Lee should be fired immediately and punched in the face by some random fan on the way to his car.
-
Bucks and Bulls have to try hard to tank and not take our play in spot at this point, still not mathematically eliminated I think but too tired to do the math, too close for comfort either way to close out the regular season in a drought
-
After Styles it’s Hill Jr. who I really want the next most as a Panther.
-
Theres a very good chance the best player available is an OT or DT.
-
Eeehhh it was a top team who also happens to be 3-7 last 10

The fan's perspective.

@toldozer - morning drank for St Patty's Day parade, then napped all afternoon / evening. On Utah Valley -2.5 next.

We really need the Bus to bounce back. If his play up to this point was an aberration, then we're going to need Freddie to be the man. Great game tonight but doesn't feel great.

WR in the first would boil my blood. Sadiq is a good idea and hope and pray Anthony Hill is there in the second. This is a heavy LB draft, they can get a good linebacker in the second or third. Nose tackle is low key a huge need with Robinson gone. Super bummer he’s gone, good leader and solid player. Big hole to fill.

BREAKING: Panthers re-signing Nick Scott

He’s had so many moments that I look at and say hey, who was that who just gave up that big play? Who just missed that tackle? And if I was blindfolded and had to guess one player on the panthers defense who gave up a big play I would always guess Nick Scott -
This is the best plan. Convince me otherwise
hepcat replied to RIPTreyLance's topic in Carolina Panthers
well he decided not to upgrade the position at all and re-signed Nick Scott -
Most Hornets' fan post ever. We've got to go 7-3 or better over the next 10, otherwise I'll have zero faith in them making any noise through the play in.
-
He has done well in spots late. but you are forgetting there was a 4play sequence where we could have gone down and forced OT. We discussed how that went after the game and people were split, many blamed it on Canales. Many blamed it on a receiver not catching pass. It was 4 plays every one a failure. Don’t fool yourself thinking that he does it at will. talking about the WC game.
-
Yeah. How he shows up in training camp with a year of NFL training and nutrition will tell us all we need to know. Side note... how has Bryce still managed not to find the weight room?

I hope he finds his lane in year 2. Now that we signed Walker, I'm really intrigued how Dan feels about the DL. Is there a piece there in R1 that presents value/BPA and fills a void for one of the spots w/ DB and Wharton. I'll give Wharton another year to show us why he was signed here. With A'Shawn gone, I don't think BBIII is it. Our edges are set and our LBs are balanced. Horn/Mike Jack and Moehrig will hold the secondary together. DB is, well...DB. However, I think this is an area that is the biggest question mark right now. I see 1 of 3 spots that are locked and loaded for us. If we move to a 4 down front, I assume Phillips would slide down to be the additional linemen, but we still have questions about the other two spots in either scheme. I'd feel better with a tradeback, but I do wonder how McDonald would do here. Maybe Woods....but McDonald really does peek my interest. Or, can Jackson take that next step. The coaching staff speaks highly of him for what little he played. Here's hoping he stays healthy and comes into TC with something to prove. There's a spot to be taken, here's hoping he takes it.
