Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?
amcoolio replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
Just going on eye test without looking at stats or metrics or whatever Mateer looks and plays like Herbert and Mayfield. Mendoza reminds me of Mariota, I would be worried about him the most in the NFL. Just kinda that same offense Mariota was in, it may take a while to transition Sellers, some mix of Cam Ward and Roethlisberger, if he could be accurate passing downfield... the rest of this season is critical but as of right now I would be worried if we took him as well Nussmeier reminds me of Kirk Cousins I want no part of Manning, Allar or the Clemson guy -
Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?

Oregon vs PSU should be 2 QB prospects going at it. I do like Moore a lot, but I’d be surprised if he declares as a redshirt sophomore. -
@HeelsPanthersCanes do you think duke and wake have more or less resources than Carolina and do you think they're spending more or less on their football programs? Look at them compared to us.

When he started playing a little after his benching I noticed something else he had addressed. His nutsack lol. He had been playing not get to get hit. Andy was a great teacher through example. He stood tall and stepped into a throw when he knew the hit was coming. And it was a big play downfield. It was like the clouds parted and here is your opening. Andy showed the way. I saw Bryce finally do that and he made a play. It struck me then that he had learned he better sell out if he was going to stay on the field. Stand his ground and step into it. He was skittish and retreating fe pressure again in the first two games this year. I understand being gunshy - when you are his size and weight you are going to be on the receiving end every time. You won’t be delivering blows. But that is an essential component to him winning plays. You saw what happens when he tries to throw off that back foot or falling away. He can’t get away with that. It ia a tough row to hoe but it comes down to if you want to be the man that is the life of a QB. And then the footwork of course which is to me, glaring when he abandons the adjustments they have seemingly made to his form. And also obvious in the results when he adheres to it. It is like the lights come on colors are brighter, everything is better. Those are the two things I took away from his successful return last year.

Ranking our WRs: 1. Tmac 2. Coker (undrafted WR from Holy Cross) 3.(T) Tremayne (undrafted WR from Stanford) 3. Renfrow (out of league with medical issues before returning and being cut then reinstated in 2025) 5. Moore (special team player and occasional 5th WR--better blockerthan xl) 6. XL (First round draft pick from USoCarolina. Likes horses, linguistics, road kill). -
Defense is getting better, ST is getting much better, offense is slowest but getting better. Just wanna see continuous progress throughout the year and us continuing to build the roster with young guys.

I mean really, double McMillan, stop the run and watch Bryce turn the ball over or go 3 and out repeatedly.
-
Looking flustered now playing against his old team. Want to see how he bounces back.

Oh, I was right there with you. 1. Bryce, 2. CJ, 78. Richardson. About the footwork, that's another very disappointing factor about Bryce. His footwork and timing was so insanely atrocious coming in(not something I noted as much in college) that I don't think I ever thought he would have to get back to fundamentals so quickly. Nor did I think it would take so long for there to be any real attempts from he or the franchise to improve that aspect of his game. He is physically limited but not getting your feet set consistently is murderous for the outcomes of far too many of his passes. I think quite a bit of his struggles have been related to those issues more than anything else.

panthers offense 30 of 32 in yards per play

But we are irrational. This type of constant unrelenting pushback has only abated when Bryce got benched. And some the first two games this year. If he reaches mediocre to average play here it comes again. -
Athan K QB for Rutgers continues to look good

First time seeing Maiava…he looks pretty damn good today.

When you have to respect a QB’s arm it’s amazing what it does for the rest of the offense, especially the run game
-
When you're preparing for Bryce Young at QB it provides the opportunity to spend two hours looking at a kickoff.

Kick off's have gotten some folks attention. Through three weeks, Carolina has limited their opponents to the lowest average starting field position. And that's a testament to the work of Fitzgerald, special teams coordinator Tracy Smith and the speedy coverage unit. Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel admitted earlier this week that he spent two hours of his Tuesday night watching just the Panthers' kickoffs. We'll see if they can keep Vrabel up for even longer after Sunday.

I love Makai Lemon from USC. Would be the perfect WR for Bryce Young. Crafty route runner with explosion. Whoever drafts him is going to get a good one.

Meh. I'm as iffy on Dave Canales as anyone. But it's too early to tell anything either way. Some coaches have started out hot and fizzled over time. Some have started out not so hot and figured it out over time. Then a very select number of others have managed to maintain and stay there. Much of this just boils down to plain luck and circumstances. Revisit this at the end of the year.

I didnt list Addison because while he's picked up some when JJ was out, he hasn't been consistent as an established WR2. I had CD and Pickens listed QJ is leading LAC right now but its only been 3 games and so far, this is more an anomaly in his career than the norm, but that can obviously change if he keeps it up throughout the season. Godwin is supposed to play this weekend so we'll see what that does for Egbuka, but TB does have a 1/2 punch already in the list. Buffalo is always an anomaly because you can never figure out what the hell Josh Allen is going to do. But if I had to say Keon or Shakir is the clear number 1, I dont think I could argue it either way because it's week to week, unlike when Diggs was there. The point i was making is that there's only 10-12 teams out of 32 that you can argue have clearly defined WR1 and 2 week in and week out. Most teams don't and to suggest thats the reason Bryce can't be successful when other QBs are is disingenuous. There are problems in this offense. Bryce and his limitations are part of them. Dave's offense is part of them. Im not so sure that there is this massive talent gap between us and the other 31 NFL teams on offense, and if there is, heads need to roll considering how much has been spent on offense. -

I gotta say our ST deserves some kudos. Tracy Smith has put together a nice lil squad. I was watching this video earlier and it's noted how we've been attacking teams. Gotta love that effort and conditioning. Right around the 5 min mark after Vrabel says he studied our "dirty kick" for about two hours last night while getting ready for Sunday's game. Ransom, Bam Martin, Tremayne, Incoom,Dalevon Campbell, etc have all looked impressive on coverage at times this season. It's early but Fitzgerald was also great pickup for Dan, especially being a UDFA rookie. Kudos to Martin and JJ as well. All we're missing is a reliable returner with speed. Hopefully Etienne/Dowdle/Horn will turn into our version of Ginn this season. Side note: Give the assistant ST coach a permanent seat on our sideline..we need Darren Bates with that type energy.

Wilks was never going to get the job in the first place. Tepper had a hard on for what we have now, and obviously he was a visionary lol. Wilks didn’t fit his profile. Wilks may have had trouble putting together a good staff for 2023, honestly, but what he did in his 12 games was done without any of his people, and a short handed staff. He did a great job overall in tough circumstances. Said before, I never was wowed on him as a DC, he fit better at the top, like a highly motivating administrator or something. It is strange but people have these niches that they can excel in, certain jobs or skills. I think that leadership thing is his. And being a DB position coach, he was really good at that for us.
