  1. Past hour
  2. I much prefer the content of this thread than the constant crying in others. Glad people were able to come in here make their observations and not derail the conversation. Good opinions in here. here’s to next season boyz. I am hoping we clean house. I have seen franchises like the bears do exactly what i think we’re gonna do. They have not had a new staff come in yr one and pick their QB, at least not recently. Past 3 QBs for them have had a new headcoach in year 2. I want an adult in the room. I don’t blame them for hiring canales, we just weren’t as marketable as other teams at the time. Still want an offensive minded HC, but i want a proven playcaller.
  3. I was never onboard with Morgan to begin with. The dude always seemed a hammer short of a full tool bag, maybe too many concussions. He was a Fitterer hold over and I thought he should have been gone when Fitts went. He literally made it to NFL GM with no credentials to speak of other than a playing career. Shorts stints of personnel management for the Seahawks and Bills, neither organization choosing promotion or retention. I believe Morgan was added as a friendly face to sooth a fanbase that was growing to hate Tepper and probably retained for the same reason. Morgan never coached, had minimal front office experience and the GM he "assisted" was deservedly fired. From what I can find online he received a BA in Liberal Arts from Miami so that isn't exactly a qualification either.
  4. If you really want to change the identity of the culture, then your opinion may indeed be the way to go. 1) I see nothing from our drafts since 2020 to indicate that either the scouts or the GM's are shrew evaluators of college talent. 2) A new GM should be able to hire a coach since his livelihood is directly affected by how well the coach can get the team to perform on Sundays. The only time I'm ok with a GM keeping the coach that proceeded his hiring is if the new GM wants to work with the coach. Ideally, He should have final say over the coach instead of the owner. And, that coach and GM need to be in sync on how the team should be run on both sides of the ball. 3) A new coach should be able to pick his own staff. If he wants to keep a coach already on the staff that's fine. A new HC hire shouldn't be told that you have to use this guy for one of the jobs, especially a position as important OC or DC.
  5. The crazy thing is some of these plays that went down to like 2 on the play clock were basic inside zone runs. That poo shouldn't take 30+ seconds to decide when you are down 24... It's not like they had to hot route multiple receivers and change blocking assignments after lining up. It's almost like Canales has somebody else's playbook and needs to flip through 10 pages to try and figure out what play he is going to run
  6. It's just laughable that we hear compliments throughout the week that the O and D are looking good...yeah, because they are playing each other! lol. This team is a total waste bro...I'll be RedZoning it for the remainder of the season just like last year. I don't get mad if I don't watch the game.
  7. I've never said "balled out". The statement was that Bryce only plays well when there is no pressure and when the game is out of reach. That is a lie. I named numerous games where he played well. I never said he flipped any kind of switch. Bryce Young has played well in some games in the first half. Bryce Young has played well in some games in the 2nd half. Bryce Young has played well in some game under pressure. Bryce Young has played well in the final drive with the game on the line in some games. All of those show he is not just a Jag that shows up in garbage time when the game is out of reach. I named the close games in response to a different question being that we were the opposite of a competitive team over the last 10 games last year. We won 4, got blown out in 3 and were competitive in 7. Two were in OT which is about as competitive as it gets. Seven out of 10 games where we lost or won by less than a TD would be defined as competitive and that would certainly not qualify as "the opposite" of competitive.
  8. Yeah, Arizona isn't scared of Bryce, so they are probably expecting a run (or dump off to the RB/TE) on 1st down. And I don't think a run play on 1st would really surprise defenses there. It just seems like we don't know what we want to do on offense - 1 second it's lets run out the clock; next second it's lets throw for a 1st. Everything on offense seems out of sync, from playcalling to blocking assignments to Bryce
  9. There's so much dysfunction going on with this offense it's like they are just making the plays up as they go through the game. The end of each half was a complete disaster from start to finish. And despite Arizona's best efforts to give them the game they still couldn't do anything remotely close to indicate they knew what they were doing.
  10. Man if the Panthers had somehow miraculously tripped and fallen into a win yesterday, the spin today would be unbearable. I hate to say it but a loss was the only way to not lose sight of the many glaring faults across the board and keep the focus on what’s wrong with this team. No story lines about “heart” or “resiliency”, that ain’t it bros.
  11. XL is awful. He's not a football player, period. He's an athlete with zero feel for the game.
  12. It’s not the worst strategy to run an inside draw in that situation….if the defense respects the deep pass. Patriots made a killing on that play It’s one thing when you’ve got baker mayfield, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. it’s another thing when you have someone you absolutely under no circumstances are going to let go play action deep from the 11.
  13. the problem with the we need more time mindset as this point.......is we know time will not change many issues Bryce Young has. Most importantly, he just flat out doesn't have the physical tools you want in a NFL QB. And those issues are at the foundation of why he is such a bad QB to date.
  14. Sounds like the usual story of his soon to be short-lived NFL career
  15. You can tell who's formative years were spent online vs outside.
  16. Here is his Ole Miss tape from Saturday. He should have won this game but his WR fumbles on their 20 at the end. 13:20 is a nice tight window throw while stepping up in a messy pocket. He does seem a little slow on his reads or maybe it's the slowing down of the video that is messing me up.
  17. My biggest problem with that mentality is we were down 10... Why the hell would we be running it on 1st down when we desperately needed points and momentum. Running it for a short gain on 1st made it much easier to decide what defense to run on 2nd and 3rd and long for Arizona.
  18. As bad as that was, we were still running the play clock down to 5 or less the entire 2nd half despite being down 24 after the Cards last TD. I still don't know who is more at fault for this - Bryce or Canales. There were definitely a few times where it looked like we were lined up at about 20 seconds and Bryce is I think making line adjustments until less than 5 on the play clock. Other times, the team didn't even get lined up until less than 10 seconds on the play clock. I really think we have the worst marriage between a coach and QB in the NFL - a QB who is bad + a coach that looks clueless.
  19. When they were in position to win the game he poo himself. yes against prevent down 24 points in the fourth is garbage time.
  20. I dont find anything grating at all about optimism. It drives the dude bros crazy though.
  21. It seems that it's gotten personal to you so I was just making sure you were thinking clearly. No worries.
  22. This one play sums up how horrendous and little he cares https://x.com/justblande/status/1967538285942808675?s=46&t=ID24LbHaAiOwVOmMGHXcTA
  23. Rookie QB, Frank Reich, no offensive line and limited skill positions. No run game, bad defense but let's judge a player potential in that environment. That season was something for Bryce to overcome, not a indication of the kind of QB he can be. It's why I mostly disregard it, especially since we fired the entire coaching staff. So, yes. I'm calling 1 year and 2 games too early to blow it up when the team improved great from the year before. I think I even called 5 wins before the season and was really only looking for progress and a solid plan and foundation with Canales. Check. In this 2nd year I said put the over/under at 8 wins and want to see Young take another jump in his progression. That has not happened for the player or the coaches but we still have 16 more games to grow and produce. If we don't and this is as good as Bryce can get, highs and lows then we'll move on and try something different. If we do make a jump and go on a run and Bryce does make another jump then we are in business. It happened last year despite everything and this is the NFL. Unexpected stuff happens all the time. Bryce becoming a top 15 QB won't even make it in the top 50 crazy and unexpected things that has happened in the NFL. We've had one year and 2 games with Bryce, Canales, Morgan. With the place the team started from and Bryce shitting the bed those first 2 games I was very impressed with how Canales handled Bryce and how Bryce responded.
  24. Lol I don’t Want to get mad about but will end up taking a look at the breakdowns.
