Xavier Legette fuging sucks
kungfoodude replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I gotta be honest, I cannot recall a WR we have drafted recently with so few fundamentals. It's shocking. -
True. Look at the Colts. Brought Jones into compete with AR, Jones won the job and led them to an impressive win today.

Oh yeah, that really is telegraphing the whole situation. Makes me wonder if he gave it an offseason to see if we turned around and then after seeing it all said, "fug this" when there was a way out. I missed that little blurb. Wow. -
So he’s Dwayne Jarrett but from the deep woods. Fantastic.

https://sports.yahoo.com/article/panthers-adam-thielen-both-asked-182711572.html "When I spoke to Thielen in June, I asked him about J.J. McCarthy’s trajectory after missing the 2024 season, before any of these rumors sprouted. Thielen believes McCarthy is built for big moments and will eventually show the world the skillset that won the Michigan Wolverines a national championship in 2023/2024. He even said McCarthy could be the “face of the league.” “I have high expectations for him. I've been able to be around a little bit through some of the time last summer... back in Minnesota, and I think he has the ability to be one of the great quarterbacks this season and the face of this league at some point. You know, I think he's got every tool and intangible that you can have,” Thielen said. “Obviously, it's a difficult league and it's not gonna just be easy, but I think he has the ability to handle adversity to be able to be big in big moments, as you saw when he was in college. I think he's got a great support staff around him, whether it be the coaches or the trainers.” Thielen already sounds like McCarthy’s teammate the way he speaks about him. Maybe he knew something we didn’t in June."

XL can literally do nothing that Deebo nor DK can. He doesn't blow by people consistently. He isn't physical after contact. He can't break tackles consistently. He isn't elusive. He cannot catch consistently. He has no sense of body control whatsoever. He loafs on too many reps when he isn't the target. It's not an us problem, it is a him problem. This is the same as TMJ or Mingo or any of the other recent bums. People always say it's us because it's easier than admitting we just wasted another pick and fuged up...again. I am here to tell you, eventually you will see what a lot of us already basically did last season. He ain't an NFL player. Just another in a long line of Panthers bad draft picks. -
At this point, we have to just ride with BY this year. It will either be a dumpster fire and we get a top pick at another QB next yr or maybe he turns it around. I know which way I think its going, but we will see. My question is if this goes off the rails, what stupid azz things does tepper do. Will he meddle with what QB we pick again. Also who tf of any status is gonna come here if he cans another coaching staff. We may be stuck with Canales for a while. These things make it feel a bit hopeless.

How ironic. Only one being prejudice is you by judging people from the suburbs. I could care less about the accent or where he’s from. Never once mentioned that. I’m judging him based on what I’ve seen of him for the past few years on and off the field. -
He had a ton of red flags while at Alabama. Happy feet, costing himself and his team sacks by always being off schedule or with poor line reads. He was still a small QB with a slight frame, and an adequate arm. You don't draft that first overall in the NFL.
-
This. And also, to counter jb, a prime example that all his receivers didn’t let him down - Renfrow straight cooked his matchup at LEAST twice today, and on both of those plays, Bryce threw a horribly inaccurate pass and turned what would’ve been at minimum a 20+ yard gain and at best been easy TDs. Renfrow did his part. Even the PI Tet drew - imagine if we had a QB that had enough arm strength to put that pass ahead of Tet and gave him a chance to run under it. Bryce fuging sucks. Period.

Hot Takes Immediately After the Game
tukafan21 replied to Admiral Ackbar's topic in Carolina Panthers
We lost our depth 48 hours apart when we traded our #3 and put the #2 on IR -
Newton would have done a front flip into the end zone and Delhomme would have done one of his awkward 2 mph dives where he comes up with his helmet sideways but both would have made it happen. This guy didn’t even try.

Ah, I gotcha. -
He’s a fast processor, like the Intel 80386 was in 1986. The problem is, it’s not 1986 anymore

Reminds me of high school football years ago when this team was driving at the end of the game, his coach was basically screaming the play across the field because time was running out but the kid thought he was being smart and spiked it…. On 4th down.

Don't agree with going for 2 even if they get it

I’ve said it in other threads. He belongs in the NFL, but we aren’t using him correctly. I’ll give him the rest of this season to see how it pans out, but then again, it’s also hard to judge him because we don’t have a guy who can get him the ball in his areas of strength. I know some compared him to DK when he came out, which is possibly an apt comparison, but with a noodle armed middle schooler at QB, it’s impossible to know that. DK isn’t known for being ultra agile and making ridiculous, ballerina-tight rope catches. DK is a force of nature. A big body guy who is freakishly athletic and relies greatly on strength and straight-line speed. That’s how I see XL at best. At worst, I envisioned him as a bigger version of Deebo. Again, a guy that isn’t ultra agile or quick, but big, strong, physical, and fast, but as you mentioned, Deebo worked because they were great at figuring out how to get the ball in his hands in creative ways and at scheming him open on routes. In my estimation, none of these three are route technicians. But the way DK and Deebo developed, that gave me hope for what XL could or can be. I still believe he can be that dominant, but with Bryce, he is not in an offense that will foster that kind of development. It’s my belief that just like in the preseason, when the guy pulling the trigger can’t get guys the ball in their preferred spots, it not only hinders immediate results, but it also makes it impossible to evaluate what we have. I would like to see what XL can develop into, but as long as they keep trotting Bryce out there, that domino effect fugs everything else up.
-
No, the WRs didn’t let him down. XL not getting his feet down on a ball he should have doesn’t fulfill the narrative his WR let him down. Every WR group, for every QB is out there playing imperfect games . Bryce Young doesn’t fit Dave’s offense. Just like he didn’t fit Franks. Technically, that is the orgs faults. I have spoken about that fact through great protest every season since we drafted him. So I’m not putting everything on Bryce. I can talk about square pegs and round holes all day. End of the day, the simple fix, is Bryce. Bryce is the biggest factor in why everyone sucks. He does the opposite of what you want your QB to do. He lowers everything, for everybody. He doesn’t make people better.
-
The 4th and 1 throw was even worse, because he had an open dude right infront of him in the endzone. Young never saw him
-
Palmer saved this game for Buffalo if they can come back and win.

Hey there are still maybe 3 people here that think tepppers coaches and scouts are somehow smarter than us take it easy -
I think he could benefit from not starting and getting 14-18 snaps a game both run and pass. His only goal on those snaps should be max effort and attention to detail. That’s your role until you get it figured out and can be trusted. I can understand not rushing Jimmy out there but if XL isn’t even going to give effort blocking his ass needs to sit. Tmac and Hunter starting with JHJ seeing what he can do until Coker is back. Bring in an extra TE and feed Chubba. We can be a better team without him at this moment in time.
