Question to those that know CFB. Styles seems talented but doesn’t seem like an MLB. Seems a lot more like a Luvu than a Kuechly. Is he an ILB or OLB in a 3-4? If we draft him, I’d think we still need a traditional mlb-type either via draft for FA.

Personal feelings aside, I really don’t think this coaching staff and FO values TE high enough to take one in the 1st rd. That, and I think we are fine with the 3 we have for what we ask them to do. I don’t think Styles makes it to our pick either. So if I had to guess right now, I would guess OT might be the best combo of value and need at our pick. There will be a few off the board before we pick, but there should still be some value there.

Your comment is ironic considering it's in a thread about Sam Darnold. Who didn't play well in the NFL until his 7TH season! Now I'm not advocating that we would or should ever keep Bryce around longer than next season unless he plays great. But I think Sam (and Baker to a certain extent) have shown that QBs can still continue to develop after many years in the league.

wasnt directed at you personally just saying the supporters are saying he is "progressing" but at some point he either is the guy or isnt. His "progression" is at a damn snails pace and you simply cannot afford to ride him out for 5 years hoping he makes a monumental leap.

With you on the first paragraph. Want a vet LB that can play fast out of the gate, these young guys have to think too much. We need at least one good veteran upgrade there and if we can draft a promising player to pair up with a vet, so much the better. Do the best we can at edge, just don’t force it too hard if it doesn’t fall our way. Now, Coker? He got what, 140, 150 yards in his first playoff game? We can hold off on upgrading him for my money. I yield to the people who have been asking for the speed factor at WR. Get someone cat quick who can juke someone, and get up after a hit. If possible. I really hardly care that about TE. No high picks on one please. There should be a lot of them out there, sign one.

I want Styles in round 1 but we would definitely have to trde up above the Cowboys to get him.

We for sure need another legit pass catching threat but not sure id bank on Sadiq. I can think of three positions to address in the first and TE/WR ain't it.

Edge and LB. I agree with the above poster that said edges take a while, so I wouldnt count out Prince just yet. Grab a high level vet at edge and hit LB as the first pick and grab a mid-level LB to pair with the young guy. Then get a real number 2 passing threat. No Coker is not a number 2....even if he becomes that no negative in having another legit threat. Be it a high level pass catching tight end or another WR. Hell or both.

You cant live life this. Always wringing your hands about what could have been. Truth is as an organization we weren't ready to be responsible so we missed the opportunities when they presented themselves. Thats what we are really mad about, not missed players but having an organization that was (is?--seems to be much better) dysfunctional. Fix the foundation and the wins come, quit looking for heros to solve all the other problems that should be addressed.

Remember his board telling me how crazy I was that we could build around him without trading all of our assets. You guys just wanted that 1st overall pick for a QB prospect so bad.

Hard to say. He definitely learned from his stops in SF and Minn.

He's headed to the ground after taking a step (a football move lol). They definitely haven't been officiating that consistently but I've seen similar plays be completions.

We need a solid vet to pair with a rookie in my opinion plus grab veteran edge
