Official Week 4: Panthers at Patriots Gameday Thread

WTF do I keep seeing this posted? Thielen would not have impacted any games we played. We’d have the same record. We are better off with the 4th, which hopefully will be used by competent scouting/GM. I will say that it does seem like you watched the game and lost a bet with a NE fan to have a beer for every point NE scored so don’t worry about it! -
He knows business. He just doesn't know NFL business.

This is the guy I want to draft.

Very negative... -
Meh… can’t do poo about it. Our only hope is that he accidentally does something right.
-
That game makes no sense at all. I think the Falcons just didn’t prepare for that game thinking the Panthers were dogshit and got surprised. They picked a bad day to have a bad day

The franchise needs to reboot and get back to their roots.

Completely disagree, in today's NFL, you should always be hiring offensive minded HC's. It's much easier to replace good DC's than good OC's, and you're not going to be a good team if you have a defensive minded HC and a bad OC. So when you go defensive minded for the HC, if you're lucky enough to have a successful season or two, you're then going to lose your OC and have to re-start things on that side of the ball again. With an offensive minded HC, even if you lose your OC, you are still keeping the offensive scheme and continuity. -
That book would have to explore a conspiracy theory involving the owners paying the media to hype up Bryce so Tepper would take him as sort of humiliation ritual.

Worst owner in pro sports. Carpet bagging hedge fund demon with zero actual business skills. Comment here to sign this statement.

He isn’t able to make routine throws. That’s the problem. Even throws you would expect would come naturally, he fugs it up. I said earlier in the thread, they got Tet because Bryce supposedly needed a receiver with a hug catch radius to mitigate some of the off/target throws - and he STILL misses him 9 out of 10 throws. Whatever we do to try to compensate for his weaknesses, he just gets even worse at whatever it is. We went and got XL to help take the top off of defenses and also get it to him quick and let him do damage with YAC. And Bryce can’t get it to him in advantageous spots either. -

Things haven’t been going well for almost a decade, how would like people to act? Like we’re playing well and winning games? -
Huh? Cam at #1 overall.
-
Wish we'd known this before.

Sellers can’t even really pass in the SEC that well. He need at least another year in college. Panthers would ruin him quick. we should just bring in the best vet money can buy and draft D
-
What happened with everyone saying this draft was QB stacked and now I see everyone saying no one is worth a first round pick.

We all know this season isn’t going to get any better. Bryce Young doesn’t have the physical tools to ascend to the next level, he’s too limited to elevate the offense, and it’s unlikely he will be the starter next year. I imagine the team will try to trade him for anything they can get in the offseason. It is likely they will need to clean house again after this season depending on how bad things get, but with the purpose of going full on defense and getting back to who the Panthers were when they were successful in the past. It’s time David Tepper stops forcing his will on the franchise and they get back to what they historically have done well. Hire a defensive minded head coach. Draft defense in the first round for three straight years. Build the roster in spite of the QB. Get by with veteran journeymen and take shots on some young reclamation projects. Draft some late round QBs and maybe get lucky. But stop forcing the QB position, stop trading assets for QBs, and build the roster. There is no other path forward. Tepper has tried everything else except following the blueprint that made the Panthers even remotely relevant in the past. It’s this, or continue to be a bottom dweller until Tepper dies or sells the team.

Bruh, he's NOT ready.

Legitimately the lowest I’ve ever been as a panthers fan. I thought he turned a corner and would be one of the better QBs in the league. Instead he may go down as one of the worst QB to play in the nfl, my god his decisions and execution are legendary in a seriously bad way.

This is a deep qb draft overall. Take the best player in the 1st round and grab a qb in the 2nd round -

He couldn’t. He packed on 15-20 lbs of water weight. His entire combine was a con and our owner fell for it and his practiced S2 test results. Anyone could see it was all smoke and mirrors by a carnival side show con man. -
