Lol Brady and Rhule needed to be fired. You can't demote someone and he wasn't ready. I did catch poo for saying he needed more time and wasn't ready then but could be good if not in a setup built to fail. I even daid under a good coach he could end up being good. Hate to keep telling you but DC is a supporter. You keep ignoring that. Your wrong and keep ignoring he just called a game that proves Im right about that. I get you blame DC for some things and I can agree with you about a lot except he isn't still a supporter and backer thus part of the problem. Again I completely agree about the last part. The fact you can't see DC as being a backer or supporter is what I disagree with. It's obvious at this point and it's been proved yet you still ignore that one fact.

To be fair, If and only if, he has finally learned from his mistakes and was man enough to admit he dropped the ball by not letting Rico spin. Then I am ok. At least he acknowledged his shortcomings and recognizes the problems that’s half the battle. so as mad as I am bc we could have beat them on the road on Monday night football just by sticking to what we do best. I can let this one go for now Dave. Do better or we’re calling for you and Bryce to find a new gig he better trust his run game against the rams. I just keep the main thing the main thing. The equivalent here would be you raging about Joe Brady needing to be fired. Me saying, Matt Rhule is the issue and firing Joe Brady doesn't address the biggest issue at hand and won't actually matter. Which is a dance I did then too. You then call me a Joe Brady apologist because I wouldn't get away from Matt Rhule being THE problem. the main problem is Bryce Young and his supporters in the front office. Until that changes, nothing matters. Canales being a weak OC in over his head? Time and a place. You can go check my threads from preseason where I blasted amateur hour Canales for not calling plays. He needed work because he isn't good. But that's not the biggest issue we got. Like I said, nothing really matters big picture until Bryce Young and his backers address THE problem. Which is the QB. I have gone into painful detail about the entire Dave scheme is dependent on a QB bailing out a meh scheme and approach. I didn't want Dave. Dave is Foxball in reality. Which is what Pete did in Seattle in reality. It's the same approach and it needs a QB to bail it out. You want me to bash stuff I addressed long ago. I'm no Dave fan. But the biggest issue for the Carolina Panthers is Bryce. I want the outcome that leads to Bryce Young not being retained. That's what is best for the Carolina Panthers. You want 2 more pointless wins notched onto a meaningless season if it means just another completely pointless season tied to Bryce? Not me.

Canales comes across as this uber positive, cheerleader guy, but he does seem like he can make a cold decision when needed (see: Bryce benching, calling out Coker, a few others). Something about him makes me feel like he's a bit sneaky with how he can get. He's the type where I think if he's just in a room with Tepper, he'll let it out about what he thinks to save his ass. And even with the wins, I just don't see much camaraderie between Canales & Young. They don't reference each other in the usual QB-HC tone/dynamic in pressers and games. It seems like Bryce is still trying to prove himself and Dave is still just not impressed, trying to figure out what even works with the kid. My gut says he won't be shy to explain to Morgan and Tepper what he needs to succeed. And that doesn't include Bryce. Barring some epic turnaround, the book is close to being written. He will have more leverage. If he's gifted a 3rd season, I highly doubt he's going to look and say, yep, let's just try it again with Bryce. That isn't happening.

Underrated part of all of this. Feel like it was Kaye that reported that NOBODY wanted to touch this job, so we had to go with someone not really even getting interviews/hire someone too early. A. Tepper is dumb to have not listened to Harbaugh if it's true he wanted to be here, since that was the only name I remember being *potentially* tied to us B. You can cycle through QBs every single year. You can't do that with coaches and expect to hire anybody worth a poo. Even if Canales sucks, optically we almost have to give him 3 years minimum to prove we're a serious team for once and not scare anyone else off.

If we had a better QB, we would be in the playoffs. So, no.

I'll give Canales a longer leash than I would Bryce. You can't determine what the offense will look like when you have a QB you can't trust.

I have eased up on this. He was incredibly stupid Monday. However I dont advocate firing. We cant keep doing that and expect better coaches. He better have learned that obvious lesson

A coach tells you what he thinks about his QB through the plays he calls. You run an offense through the QB. And we run the most closed-off & restrictive offense in the entire league. A coach's failings become obvious when the fault is blatant or if the entire team is in disarray/the players quit. See: Reich. But right now, it's really difficult to tell. Dave had one of his bigger coaching flubs this past game, no disputing that, but agree it's just hard to see once separated from what we have that's capping us. Seems like he's got the guys still playing with some decent punch, for as bad as the offense was.

Hate when teams, specifically us in recent years, trade away sure things for draft picks and sell it as a rebuild. This notion that the most valuable assets must be auctioned off in order to rebuild a teams is the most overrated strategy In sports Obviously we didn’t learn from that mistake as we went on to trade burns and DJ Moore

There is no shortage of other superhero characters to choose. Maybe make your own thing, instead of co-opting someone else and their celebration.

We never should have traded him it’s as simple as that. Same with DJ. Same with Burns. You don’t trade young, home grown, proven talent for a lottery ticket. People who bitched about cap and how much they were making need to pay attention to the product on the field since then. CMC alone would win us a coupon extra games that we had no business winning, not even mentioning the leadership and tone setting he brought to the team. He’s a 1k receiver and 1k runner and opens up everyone else on the field because cmc must be double teamed constantly, and any time he is not, he gets the ball.

The fact you still think he ended Youngs career last year vs the reality it was his and Dan's game plan all along is the excuse. That man went into a game leaning on Bryce while avoiding the run game because ' he wanted to build on Young’s record-breaking passing performance' in year 2 after watching the team win despite Bryce's limitations. Or is he so weak he allows Dan and Tepper to force his playcalling? You allow so little blame to fall onto him which is making excuses for him when there is blame ro assign to everyone. You look at DC like Tepper looked at Fritters in 22 or Dan in 23, which were both poor calls too. In reality is just a matter of how much blame should get assigned to who because no one is blameless in that mix. Wasted talk is trying to do the mental gymnastics to prove how blameless Dave is in the current mess. He is obviously one of the issues and the only reason to really keep him is because we would be left with hiring another bottom option given the way the team is run.

He made some terrible decisions but winning anything with Bryce is better than we've had recently

Totally lost respect for Fox over his pettiness in 2010. He went from hero to zero for me. I loathed him because of it. He quit but stuck for that check. edit: but, it was just one season. Before that he was pretty darned good.

Bryce is simply yet another a Tepper problem. He is Tepper’s guy for reasons unrelated to football. Reich knew Bryce wasn’t it. The way Canales talks about Bryce, he knows it too. These are people with football knowledge. Tepper wanted to draft him and is forcing Bryce on coaches. And resigning Bryce will be yet another indicator of all this. I am not a huge fan of Canales but it’s pretty obvious he’d be able to coach more effectively without Bryce.

Half of the starters are legit good NFL talent. Tet, Coker, Ickey, Hubbard, Rico, Moton, Hunt, Lewis, Brown, JC Horn, Moehrig. Definitely still lacking in places and no where what I would call a good roster, but it has trended in a positive direction. Bridge is the only consolation I can give myself to cope with this gross coaching negligence in every aspect. There are/were so many better options that weren’t welcome here (Harbaugh/Payton) or never were going to be a part of this ish show (Ben, Shane, etc).

I remember that poo well. It was an offseason of retraining Young’s footwork/throwing process. He had a decent single drive in preseason vs Buffalo where you could see him executing the new technique on a few passing downs. Go to the opener vs New Orleans and he stuck with it until the end of the first quarter. It went totally out the window and he reverted to his horrible unique to him technique. That was, is and always will be a total fail. I think he’d have been yanked right there if Canales wasn’t brand new. Bryce was absolutely horrible those first two games. By the end of the second game we had WRs openly rebelling and pitching fits on the sidelines. Benching him was the only option at that point.
