  1. Past hour
  2. We have a brutal schedule and as they say Any Given Sunday. I do believe everything hangs on BY. He will have plenty of weapons and needs to continue to improve. If he falters than I would hope for a top 5 pick and move on with one of the good QBs coming out in 2027. I am an optimistic person, so I am looking forward to a good season.
  3. Two things. Icky will probably not be ready by the time we reach the trade deadline and we are awful thin at Tackle. Trading a good player at the deadline would be dangerous. UNLESS we absolutely suck and then we're probably talking regime change.
  4. Bryce Young. It really is as simple as that, if he can't improve, we will be worse next year even given the upgrades elsewhere. Frankly we got lucky in a number of our wins last year, if the Bryce plays the same as he did and we don't get those breaks, we're a 5-6 win team. 6 of our 8 wins were by just 3 points, another by 7 (agains the Jets), and then the Falcons blowout. It's very easy to see how this team goes backwards just on that alone, regression to the mean is a real thing when you have that many close games in one season.
  5. Jack Strand to Atlanta, hope he realizes the cluster..... he just joined and heads to Carolina.
  6. There are a variety of way to early 2027 mock drafts out but the consensus is Carolina will pick in the top 10 in 2027. I may just be a homer but Carolina got better, much better this offseason especially on defense. NFCS Champs and gave the Rams all they could handle in that playoff game. Not seeing how they go backwards.
  7. Here's the thing, I like the draft we just had, and while a lot of what to like about it will be seen a few years down the line, we still basically need Hecht and Brazzell at minimum to be starters week 1, and hopefully Wheately and maybe Freeling as well. We were a sub .500 team last year and we're still not yet a contender, there is no way we can leave a draft with only one starter coming out of it, and that being a 2nd round NT. In reality, teams have 3 starting WRs now and Brazzell should be #3 over XL, as if he can't beat out XL coming out of camp, my expectations for him will drop from what they are right now. Hecht is going to have every opportunity to take that starting spot at Center and I hope/think he will do so. And Wheately just has to beat out Scott.
  8. A on paper. but like every draft, there’s gonna be comparisons. solid clean draft imo
  9. ehhhhhh I get it, as a pass catcher he's an upgrade over what we have right now, but I'm also much higher on our TE room's potential than many on here. Plus, our big WRs in T-Mac, Brazzelle, and Coker already take on some of the roles that TE's play on most teams with a smaller WR room anyways. Bringing in an oft injured 30 year old instead of giving snaps to the young guys to see if they can turn into a long term TE solution just doesn't make sense to me. If we were in an actual SB window, totally different story, but we're still a few years away from that right now and Njoku wouldn't be around then anyways, so we need to roll with the youngsters and see what they are. Given the size we have at WR, I like rolling with young/cheap TE by committee anyways, use that cap space elsewhere.
  10. He’s not an explosive athlete. He carries his weight above the waist instead of his legs and ass. Maybe an NFL training program can focus on his lower body
  11. Okay, as badass as Dowdle was for a couple of games, who remembers his PFF score after like 300 yards? It was pretty average/good but not what you would think after that type of day. Reason is he had holes. There were some huge holes for him. It isn’t he is any kind of exceptional talent, he is good and just ran really hard and got good blocking. And he knew how to use it. And this is why we needed to keep the OL strong. If Brooks is healthy and Chuba is healthy we have the backs - if the OL can just block it up for them. Having Bryce go downfield and loosen up the defense at least some, would Lao be very helpful.
  12. After this draft, I have felt better about this team as a whole than previous years, including the Cam years. We addressed most of what we needed to with FA and the draft combined, we don’t have a QB but once we get one we have the pieces in place
  13. Exactly, like Hill he is just an athlete that happens to be able to throw the ball. I’m sure, with some reps and time, he could catch just fine. That’s why I said “and catch” Taysom Hill has beat the poo out of us and many other teams during the SP years. If we had that!!! Owe Mang! Edit: I’ll add this, 4th and 1 or 2 on the goal line? We would get 6 points with that dude! Edit 2: he may not now or ever be a QB1, but he can avg more than 6 yards per play
  14. Eh that's debatable at the end of the day. Different schools of thought and whatnot. Generally teams are not overpaying RB's anymore and they don't need to. Most are signing mid-level FA's or drafting them. But they are still fairly important. We have seen one RB drafted in the top 10 in 2025 and an RB just went 3rd overall in the draft a few days ago. You can argue how wise that is but no team generally wants to give an FA RB a huge payday. Yes having a competent and if need be dominant running game is still an asset. The main thing that has changed is how teams invest.
  15. We’re deep at most positions except ILB and OG. All we would need to do is sign a vet at these positions to add depth.
  16. I want to post like Juan. See next post for link lol. Nah but he does a dang good job keeping us informed. Thank you sir, ma'am, Kqueing.
  17. Today
  18. Imagine typing this out and consciously deciding to still hit post. What a dick.
  19. I love that we have our future LT and C on rookie deals. Moton gone after 2027 will open up a nice chunk of money on our cap. I have a feeling they might jettison Hunt out at the same time. If Icky comes back later this year, I think it's RT or bust for him in '27. Give him a fair deal and see if the peg fits the hole. I know it's not a guarantee nor easy to just flip over to RT, but I'd have a hard time having our LT's strength be physicality/run blocking and our just drafted RT's top attribute is pass blocking.
  20. If Freeling comes along and Ickey is healing good id try and deal Walker at the deadline for some more 2027 picks
  21. Agreed. Biggest knock I've heard about his mechanics is pad level. Let's hope Wash can do his thing here with improving this technique. Some former IDL he has experience with are Alim McNeil, Marcell Dareus, Malik Jackson and Chris Hovan.
  22. And an UDFA running back is going to be better than what we have? I think Jonathan Brooks is going to surprise a lot of people. I hate to say it but running backs arent as important as they used to be. Most do about the same thing. Get a few yards at a time
  23. I have a feeling that Isaiah Simmons is gonna play way more than we think. He has a chance to beat out Trevin Wallace for the starting LB role next to Lloyd.
