Bro, Icky is done for all of 2026, and who knows if he even comes back the same player in 2027 (odds are not in his favor with that type of injury). And Yosh filled in nice when he had the chance, but I don't trust him for a full season. You say it doesn't put us over the hump if we draft a LT, but it DAMN sure would put us back in the cellar if we don't have stability on the blindside. Having ANOTHER solid LT is NEVER bad a thing. I would argue keeping our QB upright (whoever that might be) is far more important than adding some pass rush or LB.

Our rookie seems to be calling out our defensive scheme
Martin replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Isn’t Evero’s defense historically a low sack generating defense? Or maybe I have that wrong -
No to fill-ins. It doesn't work, and Bryce will struggle with turnstiles in front of him. We need to address this in the draft (unless we have some unforseen trade). Days one and two have to be on the table. It's life. It's business. It is what it is.

Lol wut? It’s a very serious injury but he’s 25 and can absolutely come back from this. You don’t give up on home grown talent….franchise left tackles don’t grow on trees. You don’t remember the absolute disaster that position has been other than J gross? He will likely make his way back in the middle of the season.
-
The odds of him returning in any form that resembles a starting OL are slim. Expecting him to return would be beyond stupid. By the time he recovers, he’ll be a free agent and will need some type of contract to play. I wouldn’t pay for that. We need a LT for the future. Icky is gone.

I never want to see Yosh again. its annoying, but tackle is now as big a need as pass-rusher, linebacker, and tight end. The silver lining, I guess, is that we have some more opportunities to just take BPA in the draft. I really liked the ways they found value last year, and trust them to get it right again this year.

2026 free agent left tackles
theinstrumental replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
The FA class is really bad. If we do pick a lineman at 19, they’ll remain one of our best 5 for the foreseeable future: Icky might come back at less than 100% mobility and be better at guard, or worst case right tackle to replace Moton. It’s a huge blow, and it’ll affect our chances of building up the defense this draft. But the line was going to be a need in a year anyway. Just moved the timeline up. -
Icky is finished for 2026 free agency will not answer this problem the draft, first or second rd might, a trade might but to rely in Yosh, a career backup and brady coming off achilles surgery is not smart the right tackle has had issues We cpuld do better than mayes have to remember the panthers have the smallest qb in the league … better be able to run the ball go lines in the draft why do you think brock purdy has so much time Yes scheme is some if it but the 49ers have a line

Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panthers History
Jon Snow replied to dep's topic in Carolina Panthers
Daniel Jones or Malik Willis would be my preferred options. But we will have the Red Cap Gun one more season. -
It's not a good situation. There are 17 names on that list and most are not starter material. Not good. Not an enviable position to be in for sure. We are either drafting 1 early, or we are patching up a critical position with backups and hoping for the best. That always works out so well too.

Your Feelings on Bryce Through 3 Seasons? (POLL)
Shotgun replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
I view Young as a high grade backup or low grade starter. Much improved from where he was after his first season. -
I wonder what we could realistically get in trade (insert 1/2 a bag of chips joke here). He's a big guy with speed who's a good blocker. Athleticism and 5th year option could get us a 5th??? If someone offers a 5th, I'd jump all over it. I also think on day 3 of the draft. a WR, RB, OL & DL guy should be on the big board. EVERY YEAR.

What is your problem? I outlined why I feel my position and your response was Bryce wouldn’t do it with no context or rebuttal to what i said. So yeah I ended the conversation then you added your talking points after. Grow up dude outta here with that bs

2026 free agent left tackles
raleigh-panther replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I shared the free agent list so we could see how empty that free agent shelf is …two most important positions in football, QB and his blindside protector i would say, what ive said before, that oline isnt as good as Panthers fans believe it is particularly for the money spent take a look at how much time most of the playoff team qbs have…how much does young have? And young is a little fella..look at the run game decline given the salary cap, i believe they have to go OT in the first or second Rd, looking for an OT that can play both. Remember, Moton is held together with duct tape add to it serviceable backups…as for Yosh, he had his issues Saturday He usca career backup for a reason defense will come in free agency just my thoughts. -
I wonder if Brooks will come back 100% and also question the chance of him getting reinjured agan? Thoughts please.

It seems the Panthers have earned their respect back
PNW_PantherMan replied to LegioX's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't really agree with 10+ wins being necessary. I just know what Tepper will likely do if we only win 4 or 5. I think that's a lot more likely than 10+. Canales is just too limited as the OC. The only point I was making is that the next coach will come from a better pool than Canales did. Because our team's reputation has been repaired by giving him a serious chance. -

I believe it was the worst differential for a playoff team ever? Not sustainable. Also our division imploded, we wouldn't of made the playoffs in any other division. We need a 10+ win season next year or big changes need to be made. -

First or second round OT. Re-sign Yosh, BC and a FA.

A team should always be putting at least one or two draft picks in at tackle and guard each season. Those guys just don't last nearly long enough and those that do get very, very expensive. In our situation, we need a little more time to see what the Icky injury works itself out to. Njiman performed really well out there and if this injury lingers into the next season, then he might do well enough there to hold the line for the team. Or we could draft early if there is a stud LOT in the draft when our spot comes along. Honestly, we may be looking at replacing both LT and RT this season at this point. Moton is getting long in the tooth and while he deserves a shot to go for a playoff run with this team, I don't know whether we will really see him come back next season yet. It's still so darned early in all of this to say.

Because we had a ton of things go our way this year and made the playoffs with a -70 point differential. This year was the outlier. Regression to the mean is unavoidable. So the team will have to significantly improve to beat 8 wins next year.
