  2. Man, for a 24 year old WR with his talent to get traded for that the overall view of him around the league must have been that he was nuclear radioactive level toxic.
  3. "Fan" suing NFL for $100 million over emotional distress caused by Shedeur Sanders' draft slide. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/fan-sues-nfl-for-100-million-over-shedeur-sanders-draft-slide-citing-emotional-distress-and-trauma/ Spoiler alert: it's Mel Kiper Jr. and he's going to use his ESPN's draft coverage as irrefutable proof of his devastating emotional distress. LOL
  4. 1. Field team that should win 7-9 games. 2. Win 9-10 games. Lose in the wildcard. 3. Repeat.
  5. I understand people have a hard time changing their original opinions. I’m also not saying Young is one of the best deep ball throwers. I’m saying a lot of fans thought he wasn’t capable of throwing deep passes in the NFL, that has been proven wrong. He is clearly capable of incorporating that in his game as show by the last 6-7 games and keep in mind he was using old AT as his primary deep threat in that time. I think too many fans think you need a cannon to have a good deep pass game (you don’t as it’s primarily timing and WR skillset). This is why Tua was suddenly decent at deep passes under McDaniel with Hill and Waddle catching passes. You still have fans trying to argue the same argument from Bryce’s rookie year where he had no deep passing in his game which has been proven otherwise.
  6. Pickens to Dallas for a 2026 third-round pick. The Cowboys will also send a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Steelers and get back a 2027 sixth-round pick.
  7. Today
  8. Pretty sure the adverse applies here as well. Cherry picking some random made up stat to prop Young up is not a good look either
  9. Yeah if there was a season I think an ownership like the Rooneys would be "okay" with tanking It's the year the winners get a Manning as a QB. Can totally see the "Steeler way" going out try he window this season for Arch.
  10. I just don't see how winning is possible this year. I mean, their penciled in starter is Mason Rudolph. I'd venture to say there's a decent chance they're trotting out a 6th round rookie at QB this season in Will Howard just to see what he can do out there before they feel forced to push all their chips to the middle in the draft next year.
  11. We got more for Mingo than the Steelers got for Pickens.
  12. I never expected pickens to to be there more than this season after the DK trade. I mean they essentially play the same role. The steelers won't be tanking until they blow it up and fire tomlin, IMO. They believe they are a playoff team every season with that defense keeping their floor relatively high, and the lack of a QB keeping the ceiling close to the floor. I don't think a third round pick (plus later round picks) from the pickens trade is helping them that much in terms of draft capitol to trade up for a QB in the draft. I also don't think TJ is leaving though people look to JJ as a hey he did it, why not TJ. Though I am expecting them to blow it up in 2-3 years after more of the same possible wildcard 1st round exits (if they even make it) and late draft positions. I just don't see them being top 5 pick unless they officially blow it up.
  13. Is it weird to say "ESPN is showing us some love" and then link to a Yahoo article? I mean, I know they are referencing ESPN, but it threw me off at first.
  14. Is it love when they say you reached for pick number 22 at 8?
  15. I wonder if the Steelers are setting themselves up for a tank year to get a QB? Trading talented head case Pickens, rumors that TJ Watt is on the trading block, that dumpster fire of a QB room, etc. It sure doesn't look like they're trying to win next year.
  16. And this is how the proverbial ‘window’ is created. You go 2 CONSECUTIVE drafts where you have to hit on your first 2 picks, but you also strike gold on a few later round guys as well. Over the course of a couple years, you’ve loaded the team up with 5+ studs (on rookie contracts) who raise the level of play of everyone around them. If there is a franchise QB in place already, a legacy is now possible. The TIMING of hitting on the right kind of talent is crucial. Hitting on a stud here and there every few years actually HURTS the team. Just by their high level of play, the team may win 2+ games they had no business winning, and really screw up draft position. Now the team is stuck in draft purgatory, constantly missing out on a top 5 pick. This team is close to having the must have spots filled. QB (controversial), LT (controversial), WR, center (TBD), edge, DT and corner. These are the spots the real contenders are deep at. Draft teachable, high motor, healthy 5 star performers from top 15 schools who show up to play every Saturday and play like they actually love the game. Just imagine the boost that hitting on 2 stud edge guys AND an LT over the course of 2 years. Stop this dumbass wasted 2nd round pick from eastern Idaho state tweener project safety who had 1 good year after coming back from a season ending knee injury, but he impressed at the combine…. And this is exactly what this draft was.
  17. CRA, honestly I think you're giving other QBs too much credit. WRs bail out their QB more times than not in tight coverage. Yes, sometimes it's a perfectly placed ball that only the receiver can get to. But the receiver still has to make the play. QBs just give them a chance - trust factor. In that last game against ATL, Penix threw a lot of passes he had no business throwing. His recievers made play after play for him - that and our secondary had zero ball skills. That's normally how it goes. Panthers rarely have guys running wide open through defenses, so most passes are contested due to tight coverage not necessarily bad ball placement. It was that way for most of Cam's career. That's why Darnold struggled so much. That's why things got difficult for Baker. That's the difference in Carolina. And that's why they chose TMac instead of an Edge. Bryce was trying to wait on a guy to get open, or get in a position where he could throw them open. That, mixed with a bad oline, was why he struggled so much early and lost confidence. Difficult ask for a rookie QB. Hopefully he's figured it out going into his 3rd season.
  18. That hasn't been the Steelers way. They just keep being above .500 while not being able to draft a QB and they won't do a mega deal it takes to get in position to draft a QB either. They have tried the duds that fall to them and are available to them in free agency but that's it. They don't reload either, just stay above .500 while not being close to contenders. It's crazy they can't lure a half decent QB in free agency because they are set up to win but nothing. This year they even took a swing at a toxic and washed Rogers. They just don't reload because it goes agaisnt what keeps them above .500 for so many years now. If they did then they would have to get rid of a lot more than an idiot WR to get into a position for a top QB next year. Wilson stank last year and they still won 10 games lol.
  19. Notice it is the same few people basically trying to find flaws to justify their dislike of Young. You are doing a good job but it won't matter what you say. They won't change their mind unless there is a tsunami of evidence that is irrefutable. The annoying thing is that when they are wrong you might get a 1 post acknowledgment months from now but have to suffer the constant negativity for months and hundred of posts in the interim.
  20. What you described are techniques you learn not things like speed or athleticism which are much harder to develop if you are lacking. Like many rookies, they could dominate at the college level but find it more difficult when every pro opponent has good talent and likely more experience. How catches get distributed will depend of who Young trusts to catch the ball and who gets open. Young will feed the hot hand. If that isn't Legette he can blame himself.
  21. Why the he'll did they trade for and sign dk if they're tanking this year bc they still don't have a qb? Do they only draft headaches? Brown, jjss, diontae, and now Pickens? If the steelers want you does that mean your a royal pain?
  22. I guess DK was just so that they could get rid of Pickens then... Wild.
  23. Super excited for him getting another shot, especially while dealing with such a tough condition as UC. Good friends of our's went to HS with and have nothing but good things to say about him. Plus, he went to Clemson so that's another feather in the cap.
