This is exactly the crux of it. You don't spend a #1 overall on a player that requires perfection around him to play even decent football, and then when that lack of elevating ability is confirmed you don't continue down that path.

The investment in him has been massive when you look at the support investments along with the assets directly invested in him. Without mentioning that the rest of the team had to adapt to two head coaches in two years. As Parcels said about walking on water, his feet are wet. But I wonder what the bar is for a 250 million dollar deal. It has been a low bar to this point. It is scary.

There's just a nuance to any discussion of Bryce. There's a lot to be made of his physical limitations and his mental errors. No matter what, Bryce is just so polarizing. Personally - I still think Bryce is going to have to prove it this year. Can he prove to us that he's the franchise? I don't know. He's going to have to play better and elevate the team. We haven't seen that yet. Let's let him develop. It will lead us to a top 10 pick or a more competitive team.

I actually don't think the team is terrible outside of Young. Not good by any means, but not bottom of the NFL bad either. Young, however, pulls them down to that level. It is unfortunate there is no one on the roster as a viable alternative to Young.
