When I see teams starting to cut players like this early in a season its usually cause locker room morale is getting low the coach wants to try and send a message but It usually doesn't work

I would guess we don't see any firings during the year. Pepper's trying to clean up his image a bit, and to your point, who's going to replace him? It's not like we have a future DC sitting in the wings just waiting for a chance.

Immense pressure will do that. Look at how our Presidents normally age during their terms. I was a high school basketball coach for a long time, and being the head guy running a program will absolutely take years off your life if you aren't careful. Those 70 hour work weeks stacked on top of each other, the pressures of dealing with so many stakeholders, your mind constantly "on" the gig even during the offseason.... and I didn't have nearly the pressure to win a bunch of games. Being an NFL coach is that x 1000.

If only we had a highly successful veteran receiver in the absolute twilight if his career to mentor him through the highs and lows who also knows how to navigate the Bryce BS. Someone who was instrumental in helping our defunct qb play some of his best ball last year.

so, you are a coach, you are watching practices and game film, you have a team players at a position, and practice squad players to pick from, you choose this guy over the others to start, then less than a week later you cut the guy you chose to start, that may be the players fault for sucking but the coaches who started him over the other players are just as much the blame, so fire yourselves

Both are averaging about 1.5 ppg for their playoff careers and pretty much are the only reason why they have gotten to the Stanley cup the past two years... Not arguing about overpaying them though. MCJesus is the only player in the NHL that should be getting a contract that high though

"Put in your resume" etc etc. Besides Hernaiy 1st round run, the collective huddle or just me or many others on this very board have 100% drafted better than the millions of dollars paid staff draft pools. I've been saying for years, they need a total overhaul in the scouting department. Fire every single scout. Most scouts have short contracts, hire eagles, ravens, BUCS, blowboys, rams, chiefs, and lions scout. O and whoever keeps the Steelers full of WRs.
