There are still people who think Wilks was a good answer and he is the DC for the Jets, who have allowed slightly more yards than thr Panthers in 2 games. Some people just like being disappointed.
-
The Panthers have been the opposite of competitive under Bryce Young.

I lost faith in the front office during the 2021 draft. I was never sold on Justin Fields so I was ok with the Horn selection. We had a high 2nd round pick the next night. We were in desperate need of O-line help at almost every position. We traded down twice and picked TMJ who isn't even in the league anymore. Almost any lineman we picked that year would have improved the team. We picked a WR despite having DJ Moore and Robbie Anderson who had just signed an extension and was coming off of a 1,000 yard season. A couple of picks later KC picked Creed Humphrey who is now an All-Pro center and his position is still an area of need on this team. I knew then that these guys can't just look at game film and evaluate players. They're into RAS testing and trying to seem like their draft moves make them the smartest GM in the room.
-
No, it's not acceptable and I've never argued it is. I've only ever argued to let this version of the Panthers room to see if Bryce or Canales or Morgan can build this thing. Last year we overcame a lot in many areas and improved. We have not shown that continued improvement or consistency so far this season in Bryce, Canales and in the defense although stopping the run was a huge step forward. I hope and think that we will.

Amazing what playing with Bryce for a year will do to a receiver. enjoy tmac now because in 2026 he’s going to look like TMJ

I think we good hoodwinked thinking just because a QB was successful at Alabama, they will be successful in NFL. If history tells us anything, most any QB was successful under Saban and have been poor NFL QB's. Hell their best NFL QB left the school after being demoted (and goes on to win a Super Bowl) LOL. Bama's talent and coaching was superior to almost everyone they played making life a lot easier for a QB.

yeah, looks like we finally hit on a classic Marty Hurney type first round pick. It's been awhile since we have had that. -
How does someone who's always struggled to stay on schedule and read defenses elevate and offense? Cause I had those plus happy feet as red flags coming out of Alabama. There's a reason he led his draft class is QB generated pressure.

3rd season in the league third 0-2 start with two different coaching staffs and playing horribly at best when the games actually matter and we need to win. But the jury is still out....lol
-
you see though, heres the thing. Bryce is out of runway. At the end of the year there are literally only 3 options. 1. extend him 2. Pick up the 5th essentially tying him to us for 2 more years 3. trading him thats it, so his tiny ass nice to put it in gear because he is out of time

Some interesting tidbits in this one... https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/news/panthers-rookie-wr-tetairoa-mcmillan-historic-start He has 129 yards on "downfield passes" through two games, the next most any rookie has this year is 55 yards. Fastest a Panther has reached 100 receiving yards in a game, doing it in his 2nd game, KB and CMC previously were tied having done it in their 3rd games. Most catches by a Panther in their first two games with 11, previously it was Moose and CMC with 9. Most yards by a Panther in their first two games with 168, previously it was KB with 138. -
A small way to help Young next week is to bench Legette. Brycen Tremayne needs to be the starter but I'm sure it won't happen. There's no player accountability from the coaches. We would have been better off if XL never saw the field yesterday.
-
I agree with most of this outside of Bryce just sucks and that he is not an NFL starter. He proved he can play and we can be very competitive and I still see too much potential to give up. If you'd had your way we would have not seen the huge improvements in his game last year. You were proven wrong then. Jury is still out on this year and his future. In fact if I was given the option to extend him, it not only a no, it's a hell now. Same answer to cutting or trading him. It's not just Bryce. It's the whole team and coaching staff. Keep Pounding.

Is it really so bad to say an individual is in the top 100 people in the world to do a job but he isnt in the top 32?
-
Also the panthers bye week is like the week before the Super Bowl. Theres not an obvious place to bench him. sure feels like someone at the league office was trying to do someone a favor….
-
I dont know if he would have been able to negotiate a deal like that or not, but I think even a pitiful GM would have been able to move up 8 spots with 3 1sts and 2 2nds, of course Fittershits would have used ours instead of theirs. The deal bothers me because it's just one more instance of Tepper putting unqualified people at the helm and I don't think Morgan is really any different. It's still RAS scores, athleticism and unrealized potential instead of guys that can just play football. Good candidates don't want to come here. Tepper may be out of the building but I have no doubt his influence is still very much in place.

as bad the the defense is.....they allowed points on just 2 drives (10 points) Sunday where the drive started in AZ territory. We all know we got a bad defense.... but the Panthers O allowed a TD Cards started a drive on the Carolina 48 (FG) Cards started a drive on the Carolina 45 (TD) D is really bad.... but a lot of those Cardinal points were just exclusively because our D stinks. -

I was gonna make a thread on this but you beat me to it. didn’t feel like Canales/offense knew if they wanted to try to run out the clock or try to play for a fg. playcalling doesn’t really indicate either. Bryce as usual doesn’t show any urgency to the line situational awareness. This has been an issue since his rookie season. I mentioned in the game thread that this team doesn’t look like they have a two minute package. Like you have to know there if you’re going for points or just want to get two first downs and end the half. terrible all around. -
Yeah which is why if we are 0-5 after that Miami game (or even 1-4), I don't think there will be any choice but to bench Bryce.
-
Yeah, I'm not a fan of taking LBs in the top 10. Luke was 1:1,000,000 prospect. That's rare. If we can somehow move back into the late first round, that's usually the sweet spot for the top LBs.

Also.... Biakabutuka is the reason I'm a Panthers fan to begin with and have had this name for 15+ years on here, but part of me feels like I really need to change my name now to TMacFan4 or something, LOL -
Dude, he's NOT ready. I really like the kid, but are you willing to let this staff try to coach up a kid that clearly needs another year, or two, of college ball under his belt? Why do you want to ruin his career before it starts?

Thanks for this. Great points. Time management and lack of plays being called to combat the blitz, were what I saw as the difference in winning and losing yesterday. Also, the lack of hustle during and between plays is painfully obvious. I watch other teams flying around and am frustrated by our team's play speed. -
How will the Panthers prepare for Atlanta?
CarolinaRideorDie replied to Kick's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not mad at the T-mac pick because I think we hit on him. But I think Jalon Walker is going to show out and play with a chip on his shoulder because we passed on him. He will get 2+ sacks against us, I'm calling it now.
