That's why I'd bench Bryce sooner rather than later. There are still several weeks until the trade deadline. There's plenty of time to get a good look at Dalton. If he's looking like ass after 2-3 games at that point I think you have to seriously shop around.

Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?
45catfan replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
Safest bets as of now are: 1) Mateer, 2a)Mendoza 2b) Moore 3) Nussmeir 4) Leavitt I am leery as heck about Allar, Sellers, Beck and Klubnik. -

Jon Snow replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
No more SC players. Sellers is another AR in the making. Projection alone is a dangerous way to select a pro qb. I will stick to the production on the field and then project that to the nfl. -
I'm the wrong guy to ask this since I'm an SC grad so I'd be overjoyed at Sellers......... but he's definitely not an NFL level passer right now. He's got NFL size, NFL arm strength, NFL elusiveness, NFL scrambling, but I would not call him a polished passer who can win from the pocket. But at least he has those NFL traits unlike some guy on this roster.

I agree about him being rattled.

No, it's based on projection at the next level. Sellers definitely has the highest ceiling, but he also has one of the lowest floors. -
Thats not an excuse to trade for another piss poor qb. Canales chose this route and on that alone I can determine his prowess as a head coach. Bringing in a practice squad qb is not going to change anything on this offense.
-
Not really. Admitting Bryce is a failure in Carolina is a measure of success all its own.
-
Got it. Unless Dalton gets injured again, I really don't see them making a move. It's Bryce and Dalton. Morgan will make it this year, I think Canales will too. Both will likely get to start the '26 season before the plug gets pulled. Tepper loves his in-season firings, but I think this year is too soon from Dave's perspective namely because he hand picked both of these guys. Even by his impatient nature, it would look hasty as heck to pull the plug on HIS guys in under two seasons.

Oh poo. Turnover Fred about to get Bryce next week. That’s Tommy Jone’s cousin. -

If that happens Tepper should make him the highest paid coach in the history of the NFL -

Jon Snow replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
Those rankings are not based on production obviously. I'm not using that to draft a qb other than maybe on who not to draft. -
We know what the inevitable is, but we also need to see if there is any hope for DC as a HC. It's painfully obvious Bryce can't run his offense and Tepper wouldn't allow anyone in the off-season to challenge his golden child. Now we've reached the point that either Bryce has to be benched for Dalton or we have to get someone that can run an air raid style offense. We're already getting blown out. At least this way it will be a little entertaining to watch for a week or so.

I still can’t get over schlereth saying the swing pass behind the LOS was more impressive than a deep post
-
Bring Jameis in. I feel we have our answer on Bryce, now we need to see about Canales. I don’t think Canales is a good coach, but it’s obvious he needs a gunslinger to run his offense. Jameis will be able to do that, while showing that the offensive pieces that we have aren’t that bad.

With the 1st Pick in the 2026 Draft....
MartyClemons replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
We’ve consistently had one of the least talented rosters for a few years now. You would think having a lack of quality starters in our roster would lead to cap room and the ability to sign some at some point. Especially with a QB on a rookie contract. But outside of improving our OLine, we lack starters all over. Just a complete failure in free agency. I like what little I’ve seen of Dante Moore. If we move on from Evero Rueben Bain has dominated these first 4 games. Could do worse than him and Brown leading our DLine with Scourton/Princely as pass rushers -
Well yeah 50% the other half has to be screens.
-
Tepper would have to see the Wonderlic test results before he blesses off on another QB
-
I remember when this place hated Kyle Allen. He was 6-7 as a starter with an OL that kept getting Cam hurt and Eric Washington’s 32nd ranked defense. In those 13 games he through for like 3500 yards and had 23 TDs. As a #1 overall pick Bryce has failed miserably. An UDFA with Allen’s skill set would have surpassed him already.

Concerning Avg points per loss byPanthers HCs
KSpan replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's honestly even a bit misleading because year in and year out we see Carolina score early and then get completely shut down after about the 2nd drive until garbage time/the opponent goes into super soft prevent. that margin would probably be at least 2-3 points higher if not for garbage time scoring. Now every team has blowouts and gets padded by garbage time. However, games going all the way back to mid 2021 and to a lesser degree 2020 (moreso that teams started sitting on Teddyball that year and taking away the short pass) have followed this predictable game script. To me, that's a sign as much on terrible strategy/creativity as much as personnel. Which is the chicken and which is the egg can be debated. -

Just let his fans have their delusions. Its not worth repeatedly pointing out the errors in their logic. Who cares anymore? -
I wish they’d move the team at this point.
