  1. Brady Christensen made PFF's team of the week as well. Hopefully he'll finally get the starting job.
  2. Not with the extra game this year. I think 9-8 is the likely floor and I'm not sure it won't be possible for an 8-9 team to sneak in under the right set of circumstances. We need to beat MIA, ATL, NO, and win one of the TB/BUF/TB games and we can absolutely still get in. It's entirely possible that the Bucs have clinched everything they can by week 18 and end up resting their starters, too.
  3. How is this on Rhule? So he wasted a timeout; it's not the first time. Rivera would waste timeouts, too. That didn't cost us the game. We had a QB we signed 10 days ago playing a great game and the effort was certainly there on offense and special teams. Unfortunately, the defense laid an egg. I still am MUCH more optimistic coming off this loss than I was coming off the win over Atlanta a few weeks ago because the defense isn't going to play this poorly on a regular basis. On the other hand, we actually have a real NFL-caliber starting QB, which we haven't been able to say in a long while.
  4. This loss is on the defense. Cam played very well, especially considering he only signed 10 days ago. The OL was even decent overall. The D needed to step up against a backup QB and couldn't get the job done. To quote an old friend, "it is what it is."
  5. That poo ought to be illegal. I don't know how celebrities deal with that.
  6. Next to bringing Cam back Shaq's play has been the biggest surprise on the season, IMO.
  7. I just can't understand why they won't play Brady Christensen. He can't possibly be any worse than Daley.
  8. Try as I might, I just can't get excited for Sam Howell. He looks like a good college QB who will be average at best in the NFL.
  9. Kenny Pickett looks the most like an NFL QB to me. The more I see of him, the more I like him.
  10. Well, he is 32 years old now. This isn't the same college kid we drafted in 2011.
  11. Anyone who expects the Cam of 2015 (or even 2017) is setting themselves up for disappointment. Plus, our OL is still our OL; it's not like they can block long enough for receivers to get downfield anyway. That said, if Cam can just be a decent game-manager as a passer while giving us a boost as a runner it's a huge improvement over Darnold and with our defense that may be enough to get us into the playoffs. One thing I find interesting is the fact that, reportedly, the team wanted Cam to sign a 2-year deal. That tells me that maybe the plan was to let Cam serve as a bridge QB until we can draft our QB of the future in 2023, given the weak QB class next year. It'd also give us time to build up the OL before throwing a rookie out there. If that's the case then I think it's entirely possible that Cam is re-signed in the offseason for at least another year, baring a really poor showing for the rest of this year.
  12. Maybe, but at the same time is he really better than Jackson, Gilmore, or Bouye right now? I can buy the "long-term move" argument with Henderson, but it is disappointing that he hasn't even gotten a jersey the last few weeks.
  13. If he's healthy and still in playing shape, absolutely.
  14. Way too early to say, especially given Rhule is obviously the final decision maker. I thought we did fine in the draft, and even added some good defensive free agents. It's just the OL and QB, which I have a feeling were Rhule's decisions more than Fit's.
  15. lol I remember that game. We got a 1st down on the first play.
  16. I've been doing a lot of research on Kenny Pickett this week and maybe I'm just smoking the hope-ium, but he looks like a legit NFL QB prospect. He's certainly got the arm and accuracy and some mobility as well. There was a play against Miami where he was forced to roll out and found his receiver in the endzone for a TD that was as good as any throw you'll see on Sunday. I wasn't really expecting to be as impressed with Pickett as I have been. He may well be that guy who vaults into the top-5.
  17. Any chance Grayson McCall enters the '22 draft?
  18. Rhule might well be able to coach, but we'll never know without an NFL-caliber OL and QB. IMO, Rhule's biggest weakness has been in his approach to free agency, since we know he has final say over Fit and likely over Hurney last year too.
  19. True, but it's not just the QB. The OL is awful, too. It's tough to gauge any OC with this kind of awful talent to work with at both the OL AND QB.
  20. This is why I'm not jumping on Joe Brady's back about the offense. I'm not saying he isn't part of the problem but he's also working with one of the worst starting QBs in football.
