Hollywood’s hunger to match movies with proven brands knows no bounds. Lionsgate has announced it will team with Saban Brands to revive the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in the first of what it hopes will be many live action feature films.

Making live action films from 80s kids shows hasn't worked out so well for Hollywood. I guess the 90s are up next

Get your kids ready to be bombarded with non-stop merchandising.

Loved them growing up...but I don't see this working. It doesn't have the same appeal to those in their 20s (me) that other things like the Ninja Turtles still hold. I'd actually be damn near embarrassed to tell someone I was going to see a Power Rangers movie now. TMNT, Transformers, etc? Sure.

Although Ps...fug Michael Bay

I don't know what to think of this. On one hand it would be nice to see the original costumes done with up to date technology. But how would the zords work? Would they be entirely different? or just a upgraded form of each one? original megazord? dragonzord? Both of which are iconic and if you touch them in any way you'll most likely have alot of people pissed. The dragonzord/ red t-rex zord are good as is. Changing the others to look better could be good, but if it messes up with the look of the megazord, then i dont want it.

Story wise...would they be normal teens given powers? if so would zordon be there? If no to both, it takes away what made the original run great. i can see bay making them former marines/fbi agents are something (like pacific rim), having to go through extensive testing by the goverment. Kinda like how astronaunts have to do tons of training to be able to go into space, but instead of a shuttle how to opperate a mechanical sabertooth tiger and get it to combine with the others.  Much rather have them be magical machines, realy no need to explain how they come back fixed after a long battle. (how the agency could afford to fix them etc)

Skeptical with this like i am the tmnt movie.

man I am so glad I was old enough to miss this

It came out when I had just stopped watching cartoons and mostly watched Saved By the Bell.

My son found it on Netflix a few years ago and I begrudgingly watched several episodes with him. It was as horrible as I remembered.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
