Do parents not teach kids how to dress?

This is a strange question in many ways. Society is not a decision making entity and frankly 12 year old girls are a pretty big definers of society.

This is like asking if society should let me play Titanfall and drink vodka on a Monday afternoon.

I am society bitch

But you're also an adult. I hope.

Hey pandapancake, might I suggest you move to a middle eastern village where the law of hijab prevails and if a sliver of ankle is showing a girl will be labeled a prostitute and shamed or stoned to death? At least there they are really high on women's self respect I guess, hence the head to toe concealment.

Maybe I'm confused. i thought this thread was about a guy who saw girls in short shorts, midriff shirts and make up at an amusement park which made him so uncomfortable and outraged that he made this thread.

Oh, I didn't even read the OP's thing. I just read the article about the girl who said that her school's dress code was shaming girls for their bodies.

poo, my regular amusement park has a wave pool and water park. I'd be pretty surprised if I didn't see some bare midriffs.

I bet you bitch about girls in two pieces at the beach too.

There is no right or wrong here just opinion. To each their own, I don't understand why it bothers you so much maybe you have some kind of sex issue but that's your problem. And if those girls "end up on the pole" which I highly doubt then that's their problem.

There's no right or wrong, but you're wrong. Lol

I saw this article earlier this month and thought nothing of it: http://www.businessinsider.com/high-school-shaming-girls-failing-dress-code-2014-6

Then while at an amusement park in Denver I was completely appalled by how young women were dressing. Should society really be letting girls at 12 show midriff and wearing way too much makeup? I've seen hookers and strippers wear more at work than what some of them had on. I wasn't even in the water park section. It really made me uncomfortable to the point I may not go back.

The way girls dress these days, it makes me not want to have a daughter of my own in the future. But that being said I like it for my own benefit.

Teaching in a high school tends to change the way you look at things like dress code.

As a student, I didn't care about what anyone wore.  I don't remember it being a big deal.  The way I look at it (and try to explain to them) is that school is their full time job. And there is a dress code for their job. It's more strict than some jobs, less strict than others. Deal with it. Dress like a ho-bag or homeless person or whatever when you're away from school.  (Mind you, people will judge you, leer at you, make fun of you, but whatever floats your boat).

And unfortunately lines have to be drawn.  And for those that say to focus on what's important, if something like dress code is ignored, then we should do away with it altogether. I  freaking hate having policies that aren't enforced. Either enforce them, or take them out of the handbook.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread.

    • I think you misunderstand what I mean by "significantly better than Bryce Young." That gets you entry into the top 30 NFL starting QB's. Not sure if you have seen that group recently, but it's not a strong one the further down that list you go. Murray is a Tier 3 if not Tier 4 QB in my book.
    • Here is where you are… for purely the sake of arguing with me you are willing to suggest the 2025 Saints RBs might not be better than the 2025 Panthers RBs lol Saints have the 28th ranked rush attack.  We are top 10.   The Saints haven’t had a 100 yard rusher the entire season.  We have seen franchise best performances in a franchise known for running the rock. and see above for what our OL is also clearly better than the Saints.  Hell, Canales being forced into some mashups has often made it even stronger at times
    • I am not saying there isn't truth to that but the economics and reality of the NFL are producing that. It's very hard to justify taking a guy in the 1st round, shelving him for years, having to make a contract extension and THEN hoping it all turns out okay. Not to mention, imagine that scenario after what we traded for Bryce. One thing is for certain, the QB desperation has led to bad 1st round QB picks for 15+ years now. That ain't new.  I think we need to decide on Bryce's future this offseason and we will have to. In my eyes, picking up the 5th year option is the "all-in" move for a two year period. That means you are committed to him in the medium term. Not the move I would personally make.  No matter what the decision is, I have been vocal about needing to bring in multiple QB's to improve that QB room for when Bryce falters again. How about just overall improving your team depth so that when it doesn't pan out, you at least have options on the roster? I don't feel like that is too much to ask and it's a valid bet hedge.
