The long extra point

I don't see the point. We're people complaining about PATs before? I don't recall it ever being an issue so just leave it the eff alone.

Board nfl execs coming up with poo out of boredom

i agree with the new rule too. i think it makes the game much more interesting. teams with bad kickers (im talking to YOU Jordan Gay!!!) may opt to try for the two points instead of trusting in a poo kicker. i also think it may increase the odds that a coach will go for two after any given touchdown, making scoring scenarios much more interesting.

I think the change is the best way to approach the PAT, without eliminating the point after kick altogether.

the only better idea IMHO, is to make the 2-pt conversion only worth 1 point, and remove the point-after kick from the game. that way when a team scores, they have still earned the right to go for an extra point, but it would be more difficult than simply kicking the ball from like 15 yards away...

and if the NFL insisted on keeping something resembling a 2-pt conversion, there are two ideas that could satisfy that. 1) allow a 2-pt try from the 5 or 10 yard line. must be a run or a pass, but would be much more difficult than my proposed 1-point conversion. also 2) allow teams to try for my proposed 1-pt conversion twice. personally, i like the latter...

    • Bro, they literally said everyone in the building wanted bryce.  From tepper down to the scouts they literally said everyone.  By human nature that simply cant be true.  They are just saying that to show unity in the pick.  I can promise not everyone wanted him over stroud or whoever
    • Well, you aren’t really joking there but at the same time, talent will out. Cam in our case.  Manning. All the guys that people pointed to when Bryce sucked his first year, and said they struggled too…  It is such a crap shoot.. but better than it was before they slotted the pay into a reasonable stratosphere. Talk about killing your franchise paying the equivalent of modern day 50-60 million per, to a green rookie….
    • The issue is that being slow or unable to read the field is the toughest of all hills to climb in the NFL for a QB. There is an overflowing graveyard of former QB's you have to climb over to get to the very few success stories in that realm. It is not impossible for him to figure it out but it is HIGHLY improbable that he will. The odds there are so incredibly low.
