Has Kenjon run out of time?

Barner had a miserable night.

 

 

Not only did he run for less than 3 yards per carry, he completely whiffed a special teams tackle (kiss of death for a guy on the bubble)

 

 

In your opinion, have you seen enough from Barner to decide his NFL fate?

yes, thanks to Whitaker.  Barner would be better in a spread scheme.  I cant recall him getting a carry from shotgun and going off tackle like Stewart gets, not saying he would be successful, but that seems to fit his strength.

he'll never be utilized in the read option because he can't pass protect or catch passes.

When he missed that tackle on the Black Mamba I just cringed. He just doesn't seem like the same player he was for the Ducks. He outplayed Thomas at Oregon IMO. I don't know if its just a bad fit or what, but he's a guy that needs to be in space and he's trying to play like a power back. Its like the staff are purposely making him run up the gut. Then Fozzy comes in right behind him and starts making play after play. You have to go with the guy that produces and fits, that's Fozzy IMO. It sucks because I really wanted to see Barner develop into a player here. Maybe in Chuds system he would have been a better fit. Shula needs a guy like Bryce Brown. Reese looked better too, man that kid has calves thicker than 34 I think.
