Official Panthers - Steelers Gameday Thread

Jeremy Igo

Recommended Posts

Who: Carolina Panthers vs Pittsburgh Steelers

Where: Heinz Field

Kickoff: 7:30

This is more of a tryout for some of the players on the bubble. The Panthers will be keeping things closer to the vest than usual, as they face Pittsburgh during the regular season this year.

Who to watch:

- Whitaker vs Reaves : Which running back will grab a roster spot left open by the Kenjon Barner trade?

- Joe Webb: Will he continue to impress?

- Philly Brown: A good return will make his future much more clear on this team.

Did the Panthers give a "No Means No" refresher course to the female employees making the road trip? Big Ben will be in the house so you can never be too careful.

I just want to see everybody that has a chance to make this team play hard and remain healthy. Luke shouldn't even be dressing yet Ron wants him to play the 1st quarter? Stick to the back-ups in this game Ron.

When we play the Steelers, our defense should be nicknamed "The 'No Means No' curtain."

    • Pretty sure that a QB contract payday is all the competition any QB in this league needs, I don't think a competent backup is going to make them play any harder when the current situation wouldn't warrant the contract extension yet anyways. Your opening point in this post is also the problem, "Bryce has shown signs of improving", but that's still all he's shown, and he's only showing that because of just how bad he was to start his career. If he played like last season from the beginning and never improved one bit, then I actually think more fans would be ready to move on from him, which is what's weird.  It's like going from one of the biggest draft busts of all time into the 25th best QB in the league over 3 years means he deserves a long term $40+ million a year contract extension. Improvement shouldn't be the goal when the result of said improvement is still bottom of the league levels.
    • Yeah, but we've seen him do it. Just not often. I think that's the reason for the taller WRs. Would likely be a problem finding someone like Jimmy Horn in the mess.
    • And the Rams, Seattle, Patriots, Green Bay, Jaguars and the Bills who all made the playoffs and in case you forgot, Seattle and the Patriots played in the SB. By any measure, that's pretty brutal.
