Is Cam Newton Really A Franchise QB

Wtf kind of logic is that. I guess it was Cams fault we lost to the 49ers. But wait, if we would have won that game Cam all of a sudden is more of a franchise QB?

My logic.

But just like I said in another post in this thread, he's not elite but he is kind of our franchise qb.

That's my opinion and you can have yours.

So you are really going to sit here and tell me that guys like Ryan, Flacco, and Kaepernick are franchise QB's and Cam is not because of some playoff wins?

You just don't get my point but I don't blame you. What I mean is Cam would be a real franchise qb if he wins more playoffs but I don't mean a qb is a franchise qb if he wins some playoff games.

I guess this is too difficult for you to understand but just like I said I don't blame you on this.

4 or 5 tops

When a qb swings wins in such a way, that is how you know he is a franchise qb.

Look at the likes of;

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Matt Schaub

Colin Kaepernick

Geno Smith

Matt Cassel

Josh McCown

Sam Bradford

These qbs are only going to swing the win and loss category if they were lost by 1-3 games.

But if you look at;

Peyton Manning

Cam Newton

Tom Brady

Philip Rivers

Tony Romo

Ben Roethlisberger

Drew Brees

Andrew Luck

I think it is safe to say each of these qbs swings games by 7-10 games. If any of those above qbs went down, their club is not going to win more than five games, and that to me is a significant sign of a franchise qb.

Just lol at the homers in the thread.

I think the OP means elite top tier QB, not necessarily franchise. As we all know there are many franchise qb's that fanbases want to be replaced / upgraded.

At present I am not 100% sure Cam is an elite QB (passing & IQ). To Cam's credit he has a lame duck OC, crappy line, and spotty WR's.

With that said, I wouldnt trade Cam but only for a very small handful of QB's due to his upside. I also want to see him work with an elite OC before making any final opinions.

This might seem to be a stupid question but after thinking about it, lets face it, Cam has to win some playoff games to be our real franchise qb like Rodgers, Brady, Manning.

Like it or not, Cam is not that good yet and when he's as good as those above guys, I would say he's our franchise quarterback.

Rogers didn't start till third year and didn't go to the playoffs till his fifth.

Manning didn't get to the playoffs till his fourth.

Brady went in his second year.

So in summation.....stfu you're clueless
