What we learned about today's game against Tampa Bay

Dog I don't think that makes any sense.

The injury has to be more severe than the coaches are letting on. Otherwise he would've been playing. 7 days doesn't really make your fractured ribs fill that much better. 8 full weeks gives Cam the time for his ribs to fully heal with the smallest risk possible.

O-line played admirably, DBs (aside from Godfrey) played decent and our receivers were infinitely improved.  Cam is the final piece of a potential Super Bowl puzzle.  his dynamic running and throwing ability takes our average offense and makes it special.  Time to heal up and prep for the Lions.  One game at a time, lets roll!

I never knew we had doctors on this board

I'm obviously no expert on this stuff so I'm just spitballing here, but I don't understand the point of sitting Cam this week only to play next week.  I've mostly heard that this isn't the sort of injury that will be all that different 7 days from now than it is at this point...so what was gained from sitting him today if we're gonna play him week 2?  I don't know, I must have some misconceptions about this injury or something.

In my opinion, the main reason we set him this week,in addition to his injury, was the fact he hasn't had a lot of practice getting  timing down with our receivers.

McCown threw up 4 50-50 grab balls.  They caught 2, we caught 2.  All 4 were stupid plays, where a smart QB would have taken a sack, kept control of the ball and moved on to the next play.

How come when Cam takes a sack, folks up in here yell for him to get rid of the ball? I'm confused. What is the QB supposed to do?

This is exactly why I'm worried he's heading to IR

Link...or BS. Is this like how you claimed our O-line was going to suck. And that Gman was sabotaging Cam? Give it a rest. Cam will play when he is allowed to play. Not when you think he should. May be next week, may not. But you have no clue about much. So this ain't new news.

    • Why not? Dude was tough as nails. Came off the field after a vicious hit and showed the coach how his ring finger was knocked out of socket halfway up. You could see the shock on Fox's face. Brad just  pulled  on the finger, grimaced, got it back in alignment and went back in for the next play and blew up an opposing linebacker or two. Dude is legendary.
    • Motown let on like he'd like to play at least another 5 years in his presser. I fell he was truthful and us fans over did his knee. The guy started like 108 starts in a row and only missed like 2 games over each of the past years.  I think as long as the team agrees with his value that Motown has, he will sign another contract extension to push the void years into the 2030s.  OLmen can play at high levels up til 40. Trent williams is doing it, Richie Incognito leftd and came back to play until he hit 38. Lane Johnson is still playing at a top level while 38. You member Greg Van Roten, he's somehow still playing at 36 and he started here after being a substitute teacher years before. If you are able to get over the 32 year bump, its possible to reach 38 with luck. Colleges do a poor job of preparing new OLmen, many times that vet is better.   Rams were begging Andrew Whitworth to come back while he was 39, if you got the genes, luck and still willing to put in the hard work....it is possible to play until 38 as a OLmen*starting level*
    • Shaq was a fantastic LB, he just happened to have been standing in the shadow of a Panthers great and a Hall of Famer. He was team-lead starter quality for all 32 teams of the NFL. Don't throw shade on him, he was never just a guy.
