Sold on the offensive line yet ?

They were touting the Buccaneers as a defense to rival ours. They were saying McCoy was the best defensive tackle in football. Velasco and Turner abused him at times. Claybourne and M. Johnson did absolutely nothing. L. David struggled to exist and we kind of did what we wanted. Now all of a sudden, it wasn't that good of a test. What ever......................

Happens every year. A team is really good until we beat them. Then, it's not the panthers who are good, but rather that team just sucks now.

You also have to consider the conditions of most of our run plays on Sunday. Everyone was expecting a "pass-to-run" offense but we actually "ran-to-pass". We mainly used our running plays to keep the front 7 honest and set up play action. That and running to manage the clock and protect a lead in the 2nd half (which I don't agree with) had a lot to do with the low YPC. I thought our run blocking looked serviceable to good. Most runs of less than 3 yd gain were just the Tampa LBs crashing the box on an inside run. You aren't going to get long runs up the middle if the LBs aren't dropping into coverage. We ran just enough to keep the LBs in the box. They committed to stopping our rush and that let DA go off. I think most of us are waiting a few weeks before we start leaning one way or another on the O-line.

so the sample is DA, who is a pocket passer, gets sacked once against Lovie's team and we pass for 220 and rush for 113?

I'm more worried about our defense that took a break allowed Tampa to score 14 in the 4Q.

Newton comes back next week and will add some mobility (hopefully) and that will help keep Detroit DL at home and open up more rushing...

but let's have more threads about the OL...

Come someone please tell how I was seeing some people predict TB to win the NFCS?

No QB

No OL

Average at best DL

How can people get paid for those predictions?

they put all their stock in lovie smith.

tampa bay won't become relevant until smith gets his head out of ass and puts glennon back under center.
