Damn, was hoping more Charlotteans had a sense of integrity and took pride in having an NFL team in their city. It's something that most cities don't have, like mine (Orlando) and even Los Angeles.

Think about that. Charlotte has something the 2nd biggest city in the USA doesn't, and a lot of it's citizens are doing this ticket-selling to get their money back and essentially go for free. Seems smart, right? But then it involves no sacrifice. Those tickets aren't cherished and valued. They don't mean anything anymore, it's just a place to go on a Sunday afternoon. If the Panthers win, hey great. If they lose, oh well at least I essentially got in for free.

No emotional investment in the team. Have I accurately described the wine and cheesers you guys complain about?

It's not locals doing it, or even Panthers fans.

The majority of PSLs are owned by corporations and people in financing. White collar people who were transplants to NC in the 90s and simply purchased PSLs as an investment. Bought simply to turn for a quick buck.

When there's a prime time game or big market team like DAL, SF, NY, etc they sell the tickets for a 400-500% profit. Fans of those teams will gladly pay the price, as there's only one game every 4-5 years for them to see their team.

Most people who live in Charlotte or NC have to buy PSLs on the secondary market to go to games. They can't afford, and aren't willing, to pay that much to see one game. So they go to other games.

And even when Carolina is playing a poo team at 1pm, those same PSLs will be priced at 200% above face.

It's ridiculous.

They're our catbros.

Not only that, our mascot is really just a black version of their mascot.

I can't hate the Jags. It's like hating your twin brother who hit a rough patch by getting hooked on meth for the past 5 or so years.

Exactly this. I've beer felt any disdain for the Jags. I mean, they've had a rough few years, but, it's like you said, it's a twin brother that's been down for a bit.

I will say those helmets they wear now are fug ugly, though.

I don't know if this was posted before the season started, but at the beginning of our 20th year, the Panthers and Jaguars have both won 144 games and lost 160. The Panthers have a 6-5 playoff record, the Jaguars 5-6. They've had more winning seasons and playoff appearances than we have at 7 and 6 vs. 5 and 5, but we have a Superbowl appearance and they do not. In head to head games, they hold a 3-2 edge.

For those of you who remember how much it sucked in the late 90s to watch them sustain their success while we paid for the Sean Gilbert trade and Rae Carruth, it's kind of nice to think that we've not only caught up to them, we have already passed them this year, and look to surge ahead over the next few.

I lived in jax during the late 90's and I took hell from their fans. It's nice to see the roles are reversing. All will be right in the world.

I got friends in Jacksonville who are die hard Jags fans...the one thing the Jags got going for them is the cabanas in the stadium. My buddy says it's a pretty fun time...

The new cabanas and pool is a cool idea. I just don't understand why you'd go to a football game to lay out by a pool.

Seems to me it says they have a larger fan problem than what we think we have if they have to put things like this in their stadium to get people to come to the games, IMHO.
