Are we a passing offense?

It is no surprise that our running game has not been working, mainly because it has been that way for the past few seasons. When you look at the team its clear that our biggest offensive weapons obviously Cam, then Kelvin Benjamin and last but not least Greg Olsen. Also so far this season Panther's are ranked 10th in passing yards with 259 yds per game and a embarrassing running production of 72 yds per game and ranked 29th in the league this season . So with that in mind are the Panthers turning into or are they currently passing offense?

Now that Cam is not running all over the yard, we have a clearer picture of our rushing ability.  I got tired of hearing Rivera say all offseason how effective our rushing was when the stats were skewed by our all-purpose QB.  Now the chickens are coming home to roost.

The thing is, I don't know what comes first, the chicken or the bad O-line.

So the Panthers struggle to run the ball. Yet they keep trying to run the first half of games and fail. The Panthers have a TE and WR that are match up nightmares for teams that cannot stop them. The QBs are playing very well. Yet they do not target Olsen and Benjamin early in games.

How about the Panthers play to their strengths instead of their weaknesses on offense? That is an idea. I am of the belief you keep hitting them with what works until they stop it.

So, time to toss the ball around the yard to Olsen and Benjamin from the first drive. Do that and the running lanes will open.

We are a 3 and out offense.

Seriously though....if we are gonna pass 35 times a game, we need to throw deep at least 5 of those 35 attempts.  We just don't stretch the field enough, something I just don't understand with KB on the roster.  Stafford throws it up to CJ and Dalton throws it up to Green...why in the heck don't we throw it up to KB and let him make a play.  His size is so intimidating that even if he cannot make the catch, PI will surly be called a couple of times.

The problem is that we don't have an OL.  If we're going to be a pass heavy team, then we have to alter the play calling to get the ball out fast.  When we do, we have success.  But when Shula dials up his typical slow developing stuff, the OL simply can't hold up, especially since we can't establish any run game to be able to give the pass rush pause with play action.  Shula's play calling is predicated on a balanced offense which we don't have.  If we could establish a legit running game, his passing play calls may stand a chance.  But if you're wanting to run slow developing stuff behind a porous OL without establishing the running game, you're trying to get your QB killed.

    • My tailoring green idea was not for him to be the starter but to add some value beyond just a developmental quarterback I think size speed is something Bryce doesn't have he has those and would immediately feel the fourth and one package and possibly red zone and some power packages for us
    • Do you have against Willis I believe you're around when we have the draft with corral and Willis were on the board and me personally I was banging the table for Willis as early as round one but a lot of people thought corral was better but it's amazing with a little coaching and time can do with me I always go with potential and upside versus oh the guy just plays football you know sometimes that's not enough
    • I know or needs and this probably isn't with a lot of people want but if he's available at 19 I don't think you can discount that he would be the best player on the board I think with 43 speed he's as fast as leggette. 63240 something he would stretch the field  Strike fear over the middle of opposing linebackers and also probably cure our long time history of no serviceable tight end since Greg Olsen I think a lot of needs like tackle maybe linebacker could be filled and free agency to the point like they did last year where we fix a lot of this and draft the best player we can on the board.  After his combine and the numbers in the 43-in vertical I'm not sure that he will be available but if he is I bet that he's highly considered what say you
