Charles Johnson hurt

I wonder if this has been going on for a while but we just haven't heard about it.

I've had a strained hip flexor before, and it's super painful and completely debilitating when it flares up (which can be triggered by something as simple as bending over), so I doubt it's something that he's been playing through.

Time for big Frank to step up.

Link?

All I can find is a tidbit on cbs sports stating that he played through the injury against the Ravens.

Link? Who cares about a link. What if I linked you to my FB account? Would that make it legit?

People better wake up! We went from one of the best defenses in the League to being exposed and trampled on by Pit/Bal. We're in deep Doo Doo here! The only saving grace is that we're tied with ATL at 2-2, and the Bucs and Aints are 1-3

It won't matter at all if we don't right this ship and fast! We have the best passing team in the League coming into town on Sunday with Marshall/Jeffries/Bennett. That RB Matt Forte is no slouch either.

We better start slinging it around the field, and Shula had better wake the fug up! Our schedule only gets harder from here on out

Yes, rotoworld only reports reliable reporters news and fantasy statistic.  Pretty good website.

Rotoworld cites him as the source, yet added the speculation about his status. Pretty basic way to get clicks while stretching the facts.

Haven't seen anything about this from Jonathan Jones yet. I'll wait for the official quotes from Rivera.

So we discuss this is as a devestating, stick-a-fork-in-em type of loss, then we look at the stats.  He's getting all the attention with Hardy out, but still not doing anything.  Call me crazy, but I don't think I would notice if he was out of the game.

I just hope our training camp MVP is ready for live action.  Let's go Frank!

CJ spent all offseason flying around the country or sitting poolside in Mexico.

Not surprising he is injured or that he lost so much muscle & weight. When you lay around all summer, especially as big as he is, then jump into a physical regime such as the NFL, injuries are bound to happen.

Then again, there's not much motivation for a guy raking in as much guaranteedmoney as he is.

Rotoworld is very reliable and their analysts are some of the best in business.

Rivera is the one that mentioned it during the presser.  That's why Steve Reed tweeted.

Jones asked Rivera about CJ appearing to stretch his hamstring on the field.  Rivera explained that it was actually his hip flexor that's been bothering him.

    • You're correct (on its face). But PFF does indeed use advanced stats to come up with their grades. Not trying to turn this into a debate about PFF (at all because it's been done ad nauseum), but here is how PFF explains it:   GRADES VS. STATS We aren’t grading players based on the yardage they rack up or the stats they collect. Statistics can be indicative of performance but don’t tell the whole story and can often lie badly. Quarterbacks can throw the ball straight to defenders but if the ball is dropped, you won't see it on the stat sheet. Conversely, they can dump the ball off on a sequence of screen passes and end up with a gaudy looking stat line if those skill position players do enough work after the catch. PFF grades the play, not its result, so the quarterback that throws the ball to defenders will be downgraded whether the defender catches the ball to notch the interception on the stat sheet or not. No amount of broken tackles and yards after the catch from a bubble screen will earn a quarterback a better grade, even though his passing stats may be getting padded. The same is true for most positions. Statistics can be misleading. A tackle whose quarterback gets the ball out of his hands quicker than anybody else may not give up many sacks, but he can still be beaten often and earn a poor grade. Receivers that are targeted relentlessly could post big-time numbers but may offer little more than the product of a volume-based aerial attack. https://www.pff.com/grades So PFF uses stats to come up with player grades and rankings.
