Why don't the Panthers seem concerned about the past two games?

I am not saying the sky is falling but the Panthers just suffered back to back blowouts. Two losses is not really a big deal but when you lose like the Panthers have it should not be overlooked. Back to back blowouts don't usually happen in the NFL unless the team truly sucks. I don't really know what excuses can even be used. The damn Vikings just put up 40 points without AP and a string of QB injuries. The damn Bucs just beat the Steelers who blew the Panthers out last week. What the hell is going on behind the scenes?

The offensive line is going to get Cam and any running back put behind it killed. It doesn't take an expert to realize that. There are 3 actual Tackles on the damn roster and there has been no word on bringing in any for a workout. What happens if Bell or Chandler get injured during a game?

Safety play has been terrible. Why has Roman Harper been used in coverage so much these past two games? What is up with Tre Boston? If he is not going to play just IR him and give a guy like Chris Clemons a look. Same goes for Charles Godfrey. If you are not going to use him because he is terrible / apparently not better then Harper just cut him and open a roster spot.

Coaching has to be held most accountable yet there is no mention of anyone being on the hot seat. How can Shula come out and say oops maybe I should run the ball more than 10 times per game after a blow out. Then in the next game decide to call draws on 3rd and 7 when once again being blow out. It is the NFL and he can barely figure out how to score more than 10 ppg. Why is he still playing the time of possession battle when the score is 28-7? How do you manage two 12 men on the field penalties in a single NFL game? WTF Ron. Game changing Special Teams blunders in back to back weeks c'mon man.

What the hell is going on right now in Panther land?

I don't know. After the Pittsburgh game I thought something was mentally off with the team and they'd fix it, but it only got worse. They seem extremely indifferent.

They are concerned, they are moving and filling in positions as we speak. We got a good case of the injury bug, (and legal bug) but we should have some player back this week like TD, and Fozzy, and hopefully Alexander. They are still working on the pass rush and run defense, hopefully the coaches know what they are doing.

my biggest problem.

i totally get that you can't just pass all willy-nilly, but i've never seen the inability to adjust the offensive approach according to the ebb and flow of the game the way i did against baltimore. i'm trying be conscious of my own relative ignorance in football philosophy and game management compared to professionals, but the fact that guys get fired for incompetence all the time makes it clear that there are times when fans' observations prove correct.

i really think teams have figured out how to beat mike shula and do it on a consistent basis, and in a copycat league he's going to freight trained by every team until he figures out how to stop it. making your entire philosophy "hold them to ten points and beat them by three" is no longer going to cut it.

I think they should run around the facility screaming

So tell me what happens when Bell or Chandler get injured during a game? (albeit the line would probably improve)

Will getting blown out by Chicago finally raise some eyebrows?

Obviously they are not going to have a press conference saying we are concerned about the level of suckage, but they have shown nothing that addresses any of our problems these past two games.

I think eyebrows are already raised.

At the same time we are tied for division lead so maybe a little to early to go on a firing spree and seeming panicked

    • Either way there's some tough teams on the schedule this year, on paper anyways.
    • Same. I would prefer a MNF game earlier in the season. As if more likely has some significance in case things go south this season. If we perform well enough we could even get another game forced to a Sunday night spot later in the season.
    • Wanted to jump into this thread. Although I do not post anymore I do look in as there are a few old friends around. Loved hearing some of the names you mentioned.  Another  oldie is NanceUSMC.  He is the one who got me here from the old Observer forum.  Good guy and smart football guy. I have learned a lot from a lot of good Huddlers over the years, Over time. we have sadly lost a few who left this earth too soon.  Anyone who know of someone, it would be nice to try to make a list.  One of the more recent, CosmoGirl,  was someone that kind of hit hard.  Life sucks sometimes. Some of the best times were when we had our own tailgate and could meet up in person.  I think it made us better. Several dedicated volunteers, lead by LiverMush, started setting things up in the wee hours of each gameday morning.  Don't know all those regulars but I remember JakeFlake was one.  For you newbies...each game,  a Huddler (or a group) sponsored the food for each tailgate.  Eating was free but a donation was asked for.  At the end of the year those donations were used to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots.  Over the years Huddlers bought a lot of new bikes for kids for Christmas.  (I am guessing a couple of hundred each year.)  We had a good time getting together, got to make friends in person, and then got to feel like you were doing something good. It was truly a community. I got to meet Dan Morgan at one of our tailgates...he brought pizza from his restaurant.  How many of you remember that?  Glad the restaurant did not make it....lol. Not only have people changed, and come and gone.....but the entire nature and purpose has changed. Nothing lasts forever and we move on but we still like to think about good times. Same reason we take pictures. Want to ask a question I have not seen anyone else mention......who remembers    "The Couch" ?  We have argued, laughed, lived the ups and downs of football and dealt with a little real life along the way.  A thanks to  the Mods who keep this going.  I am sure they sacrifice a lot of their time out of love for the forum and the Panthers. Take care my friends and be well.  I will close with my new favorite quote which I think is greatly needed in these difficult times.
