For my own amusement....

Some of you are suggesting we fire Shula ASAP! Personally I think that's dumb, while I'm not the biggest Shula fan, Cam seems to have faith in him and so does the organization, so that's enough for me for the time being! I'd also like to see what could happen if we actually had a decent offensive line but that's neither here nor there, soooo here's my question to you Shula bashers...who do you want to replace him with and why? In your perfect little world whose system do you want? Please elaborate on your choice

Yeah you pretty much stated you favored mediocre......

I generally tend to side with our franchise QB in these circumstances and like I said he's never had what I considered to be an above average oline don't get me wrong man I'm not a Shula supporter but I'm never for firing someone mid season! That's asking to tank, I have my own replacement in mind if that situation where to ever arise but till then I'm just curious as who people think could do a better job implementing a new system 4 games into the season....

Before I answer this (it's a legitimate question, there's a lot of people here who just call for heads to roll without thinking about who should/could realistically replace them), I have to say, how do we know Cam likes him? I mean, Cam would never say anything in press conference even remotely close to "Well, you know, our play calling hasn't been good" or "The scheme we're running don't seem to fit". He would get crucified for saying something like that.

First of all, I'd love to have Greg Roman. I don't know what's going to happen to Roman, especially with Harbuagh's situation up in the air, but Roman would be the perfect addition to the team. Grew up in the Panthers organization, his offensive lines have been good, if not awesome, and he made an offense around Kap that made him look like one of the best in the league, despite every flaw that he has. Imagine what he could do with Cam. (This is the long shot, though, because I think Greg is either going to go to Michigan with Harbaugh or become a Head Coach. There's a chance, though.)

After Roman, I would start looking at someone like Bob Bicknell, current WR coach of the Eagles. Came in with Kelly, coached up that WR corps to some of its best stats ever, was Stevie Johnson's WR coach the year he went all out. Coached in NFL Europe for a long time as an offensive coordinator, so he has called games. Working under Kelly would have done wonders for him, and gotten him ready for an OC job.

Other than that, I would even give Ricky Proehl a chance, if the coaching staff thought he was ready. I have no idea what kind of offense he would run, but he was part of the Greatest Show on Turf, part of the Foxball era, and now part of the Shula years. He has a ton of different experience to draw from and could be hyper creative in making an offense. The players also seem to love the guy, and he can obviously coach up WRs.

Enjoyed the insight I hadn't even thought of roman...as far as the cam support goes it's more of a read between the lines deal IMO, he was the QB coach cams first years and Cam openly admitted to being a tad overwhelmed in chuds complicated system...I think he's comfortable with Shula just not the oline

Shula's job needs to be evaluated seriously.  That's all I ask for.  I'm not asking for him to get fired midseason or anything crazy like that.

He shouldn't get a pass because we finished 12-4 last year.  My problem isn't with his philosophy, it's with his usual slow (or lack of) adjustments.  I want the guy to at least evolve along with the rest of the NFL.

Just me though.

I just think Chud's system COMBINED with the fact he was young (first 2 years in the NFL) that's alot to take on. I'd actually be interested to see Cam in a Chud like offense now that he's had some time in the NFL.

I'm not saying I want Chud back but id like to find a happy medium between the two OC's
