How many more times will Philly Brown muff a punt before he's pulled?

I don't think you're remembering that correctly, doesn't really matter though. We don't have confidence that Philly Brown won't just give the ball back when he's back there. What do we do? Suck it up and pray it doesn't cost us the playoffs or cut someone and sign a known returner off the street?

No you're not remembering it correctly. He caught it cleanly then after a second or two he got hit from behind and it came out. Poor awareness in not calling the fair catch was the only problem with that play. Philly will improve once he goes through film. Even if it just takes him calling a fair catch every single time, then so be it.

he never caught it cleanly. it was bobbling around and then got punched out.

I like him as a WR prospect - but he isn't our PR. He's shook. Could end up costing us down the road. He didn't lose the Pitt game for us but his fumble was the nail in the coffin. I'd be willing to bet we lose today if Cason doesn't recover his fumble in the 2H.

      I'm more impressed with the UDFA that the guys they have drafted in the first the last 2 years. A whole lot of prove it is still needed before any improvement should be talked about seriously.

      While I don't believe its a must win, (we have been better on the road this post season) it is definitely A NEED TO WIN the longer this series goes the more pronounced the Canes advantage on rest and health will be! If we hold serve at home in games 1 and 2 guaranteeing a 6 game minimum series for them if we lose the road games..... by the game 4 and 5 I expect them to be beat they have played A LOT OF HOCKEY the last three years, they have MINIMAL rest off a more physical than one might have expected series vs the leafs.... you know Tampa took their pound of flesh in round 1 from them. Combine all that with the fact that even though this year's canes squad isn't as talented as last years this IS a better squad than the one they swept last time that had McKenzie Mckeathern on line 1 Turbo with a broken hand a banged uo and eventually concussed Slavin (and even though it was a sweep 6 OTS and 4 1 goal losses is hardly dominant)  This year Bob hasn't been superman (hes probably gonna still have a great save percentage agiast us just a side effect of our style) Thatchuk is maybe 50% (3 game winners agiast us) their defense no longer has Gudas and several other downgrades.  While the Canes have a healthy and performing Svechnikov along with other big guys to counteract florida like Carrier, Jankowski, Robinson.   I by know means think it will happen but I either see this as a low scoring dog fight or a series were the canes surprise and end up dominating.
