Bengals fans on Burflict twists

Captain Morgan

most call him a dirty player

Did anyone else notice Burfict trying to twist Newtons ankle after that TD? Maybe thats why the refs target Burfict so much. Is he really a dirty player under the pile?

----------

It was a super dirty play and he deserves a fine for it. No room for trying to intentionally hurt someone

--------------

Classless. He did it to Olsen too, after Olsen scored on him. There's no place for it. He deserves a large fine.

------------

Mentioned this in my recap... SIMPLY NO PLACE FOR THIS ON THIS TEAM. PLAY THE RIGHT WAY...He tried it on Olsen too... Zimmer would have kicked his tail for this...

Marvin has got to get control of this young man. His deamons from Arizona St are rising..

SIMPLY UNCALLED FOR..

-----------------

Here are some more good videos on it. Clearly dirty.

and of course those who defend him....

Not sure I see what the fuss is about here. They were tackled. Burfict had leg during the tackle. Even looking at the videos, he's underneath Cam on His TD. Cam tries to kick him. I think this is mountains out of molehills.

Fines? For what? A play that wasn't even flagged?

----------------------------

I don't endorse being dirty. But what Burfict displayed is a common tackling style against players who are larger than you. You wrap them up low and twist.

-----------------------------

The way the refs where handing out flags yesterday. It must not have been that bad, and they focus on Burfict.

and this made me lol

I was browsing some of their boards earlier.  The easiest way to look at it is if your franchise QB, and Pro Bowl caliber tight end had the same thing happen to them, you would be outraged.  If Dalton was coming off of an ankle surgery, and a player with an already bad reputation targeted that ankle after a play, you wouldn't say "It's football, I like when guys play with intensity", like some of their fans have argued.

I was glad to see the majority of the posts I read agreed that he needed to be penalized.

Lol, is their coach serious?

When asked about Burfict's antics on Sunday, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis laughed it off and likened the accusations to professional wrestling.

"No, I don't have any comment on it," Lewis said laughing. "Ankle wrenching? That sounds like the WWF."

If that's a confirmed comment, then I have lost any and all respect for Lewis. If one of my team members was alleged to have been trying to physically injure someone, I would never laugh it off and make a stupid, flippant comment like that.

That's just backing up the classless attitude displayed yesterday. What a jackass.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
